The Puerto Nuevo Baja Hotel and Villas has history and charm, having been built in the 1970s, but it definitely shows its age and could benefit from modernization. The show during our stay was excellent.
That said, several issues stood out: the apartment lacked proper air conditioning, the outdoor chairs were broken, the window screen needed repair, and the shower did not drain well, leaving standing water. While housekeeping did a good job, these maintenance problems affected comfort.
For the price, I expected more. Considering this is Mexico, the cost felt high—especially when compared to the Hyatt in Tijuana, a four-star property that is actually less expensive and offers a much more modern experience.
In summary, it was a decent stay with good service, but the property feels dated, and the value just isn’t there compared to other options
