8/10 Good

We had an overall good stay on Davis Island, but there were a few areas where the experience could be improved. The biggest challenge was the lack of clear check-in and check-out instructions. In most rentals, there’s typically a binder or guide with key information (access details, house rules, checkout steps, suggestions on places to go, etc.), but here we had to reach out to the host multiple times with questions. They were very quick to respond but not having to do that would have been preferred. Having a simple, centralized guide would make the process much smoother for guests. There were also a couple of inaccuracies in the listing that impacted our stay. The property was advertised as having an EV charger and garage access, but there was no EV charger available, and the garage was full and not usable. Updating the listing to reflect current amenities would help set proper expectations. In terms of cleanliness, it was acceptable but not exceptional. It felt like the property may have been a recent flip, as there were still some construction materials around. Additionally, the outdoor trash was full and overflowing when we arrived, which we were told should have been handled by the cleaners. That is no fault of the host. Overall, the home has potential, and with a bit more attention to detail and guest experience—particularly around communication, accuracy, and cleaning—it could be a much stronger stay.
