ABOUT THE AREA

Conveniently located two miles south of Tahoe City on Lake Tahoe's west shore, you'll find the quiet residential neighborhoods of Talmont and Tahoe Park. Just up the hill from Sunnyside, these neighborhoods offers easy access to Paige Meadows and miles of back-country which is popular for hiking/biking in summer and cross country skiing/snowshoeing in winter.

Just down the road you'll find Sunnyside Resort and Marina and William Kent Shoreline. William Kent beach is situated in a wooded setting and offers picnic tables and grills with views across Lake Tahoe of the eastern shoreline. Next door, Sunnyside Resort is a favorite year round lakeside dining option.

During the ski season, you are less than fifteen minutes from Homewood Mountain Resort. Or travel to Palisades Tahoe (formally known as Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows) which is the largest ski resort in Lake Tahoe. Palisades Tahoe has a shuttle that runs continuously between the base area of Olympic Valley & Alpine Meadows when both resorts are open for operations, weather, and traffic permitting.

Lovely well equipped cabin in a great location

Very nicely decorated and equipped cabin in a quiet location, yet just a few minutes from the lake, restaurants, and shopping. Location at the end of a cul-de-sac, steps from national forest boundary was perfect for hiking and mountain biking.

Peaceful and Relaxing

Beautiful Tahoe vibes and nice location next to walking trails. Only issue for us was the tiny kitchen. We are big foodies and love to cook family meals at home. Outside grill was a lifesaver! Definitely would recommend. The deck and hot tub are very nice!

Very cozy lodge that is decorated and equipped in every possible detail. Impeccably clean, high end bed spreads, plenty of duvets, pillows and blankets. Whenever we had a question, we got ahold of Tahoe Getaways staff right away. Overall, our five day vacation couldn't have been better thanks to the beautiful and well organized cabin amazingness. Cozy Cabin

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, cozy cabin! The photos are accurate and we enjoyed the old Tahoe, rustic decor. The cabin has tremendous character and is clearly loved and cared for by the owners. The kitchen is very well stocked and our family really enjoyed the jacuzzi. The cabin sits at the top of the hill above the West Shore. Highly recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle to navigate the hill in winter. Note that the cabin has a nice gas fireplace and firewood is not necessary. We can’t wait to return!

Snowboarding dreams

The lazy bear lodge was exactly as described! Great location close to Palisades and Tahoe city. The cabin is situated at the top of the mountain with stunning views in all directions. Stayed with 5 guys. Perfect amount of space for a place to come back to after a day of snowboarding. We lucked out and got 2+ feet of snow during our stay. Again, the place lived up its description and perfect location. We had quick response from property management when needed as well. Highly recommended!

Nice Tahoe Mountain House

Overall a great property. Everything at the house was as listed. The house is a 6 minutes drive up a winding hill off the main road. They had supplies that you would need for a beach day. Washer and dryer was nice and lots of places to sleep. 5 stars if they had extra toilet paper and paper towels. It’s a long drive into town to load up on supplies that should have been there.

Dream House, Perfect Location

I grew up spending time in this neighborhood, and had looked at purchasing this very house some years ago, so when I saw it was now available to rent, I jumped at the chance. We wanted a place where we could XC ski right out the door, and this is absolutely the closest access to the wonderful skiing in Paige Meadows and environs. The house itself was a dream – so lovingly decorated and cozy. The kitchen had absolutely everything we needed. The bathrooms were immaculate. Beds and bedding were perfect. The hot tub was very welcome after a long day of skiing. As close to a perfect experience as I’ve ever had. We hope to return again this winter!

Lazy Bear fun!

This cabin exceeded our expectations in so many ways! It was super clean, well appointed, cozy, and in the most beautiful and quiet location.;) Our kids loved the large jacuzzi and we all loved the hiking trails (to popular Page Meadows), right out the front door;) We had debates staying in the forest or near the lake and we all decided that the location of Lazy Bear was perfect;) All the Tahoe City activities were less than 15 min down the hill and easily accessible.;) We highly recommend this adorable cabin!;)

Great ski House

It was our first time at Lake Tahoe, and we could’ve chosen a better house. Apart from being cute and well appointed the house was centrally located, easy to get to Squaw Valley where we skied and close to Tahoe city. If I ever go out to Lake Tahoe again I will certainly won’t test house. We were informed once we got there that the dishwasher it was broken, however they took $100 off of our bill because of this inconvenience, I thought that was generous.

Really wanted to like this place

I really wanted to like this place. Don't get me wrong, the cabin itself is very nice - beds are comfortable, ample seating in living room, kitchen fully stocked w/ all necessities (bring your own spices, oils, etc)., and lovely patio and hot tub. However, dealing with the property management company, in particular the Guest Services Manager (Jenn), was very frustrating. I had either a conversation or numerous texts for 5 out of our 6 days that we were there. I finally had to tell the person to not text me anymore as she just didn't get my overt hints to leave me along. This is something that could have been resolved prior to our stay. And the issue was only resolved because new renters were coming in and the property manager wanted the issue to be resolved for them and not us. So at the end of the day, while the property is nice please be aware that the property manager doesn't have doesn't seem to have your best interests in mind.

Great Ski Weekend!

We had a great weekend at Lazy Bear Cabin. We were a family of 4 from the Bay Area skiing at Squaw. The place was VERY clean. It was also very cozy - couches, blankets, fireplace, etc. I love to cook and the kitchen was well-equipped. The property manager was also very communicative with check-in and checkout and responded quickly when I indicated there was very little TP and no laundry detergent - they brought some. the next day, The only con was it is a bit tucked away up in the hill and several miles from main road. Not a big deal, especially if you want to be off beaten path!

Perfect little cabin

This cabin was perfect for two families with kids! The upstairs loft/bedroom is a wonderful space for the kids. Super cozy throughout with lots of warm blankets in every room. It’s beautifully furnished and very charming. Hot tub is a bonus! Kitchen is on the small side, but it works just fine. We had the best time and would definitely stay at Lazy Bear cabin again!

Lazy Bear NY Eve Week

This was the perfect ski cabin for our family week ski trip to Squaw. It is well appointed and decorated. Has everything you need including a hot tub. Very clean and updated. Tahoe Getaways was easy to work with and made sure our stay exceeded our expectations. Already looking to rebook for another stay. Highly recommend this rental.
