FYI, BAR HARBOR IS APPROXIMATELY AN HOUR DRIVE FROM THE COTTAGE. It is a great day trip and we suggest you drive to Winter Harbor (30 minutes away) and take the Ferry to Bar Harbor and avoid the parking dilemma (downeastwindjammer.com). Awesome 45 minute boat road and bikes are welcome.

We provide dish liquid/dishwasher pods, trash bags, liquid hand soap at sinks, coffee filters and all linens.
Coffee maker is a Keurig combo ( 12 c. drip or k-cups, not provided).

~~~Please add toilet tissue and paper towels to your shopping list as they are not provided.

A Quiet shoreside cottage nestled amongst the trees on the shore of Dyers Bay. The only traffic you will see is an occasional lobster boat passing by to haul their traps.
The deck is the perfect place to watch our beautiful Downest sunsets as well!
Also a great spot to eat a fresh Maine Lobster on the picnic table!

The cottage is quaint yet newly updated to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Our two bedroom cottage has a queen bed, two twin beds (king upon request prior to arrival) and the living room has a double size pullout couch (couch is best for children). Please advise us in advance if you require bedding for the couch and or would like the king bed vs the twins.

Located just a few miles from hiking trails on Pigeon Hill and Petit Manan Point. You won't be disappointed. Please see our reviews for messages from our previous guests.
We strive to provide a comfortable and spotlessly clean "cottage" for your visit to Maine and the most beautiful sunsets over the bay.

The cottage is most comfortable with 4 guests(quote listed) but can accommodate up to 5 if double couch is used (extra person fee $25)....couch is best fit for children.

Overall very nice. Beds are very comfortable. Kitchen supplies a bit lacking but doable. Shower very small and furnace very loud but hot water and plenty of heat. Sleeps 4 but doesn’t seat 4 in the living room. You’ll have to use a dining room chair or 3 on a 2 cushion couch. Ambiance is perfect. Very quaint and an incredibly relaxing vibe on the deck with coffee in the morning. Arnold and Wanda are great! Would definitely stay here again but with just 2 of us.

We felt that this location could not be topped. It was very private & peaceful. Each night we had seals fishing schools of fish right infront of the cabin, We had not ever seen this before and it was facinating. The fish were jumping and the seals would also be jumping. The home was very adequate, beds were good, the property was clean.The only down draw was that the home had a musty smell. The weather was "so great" that we could open the windows and air the property, I determined that the smell was coming from the return air vent that was on the floor, I placed towels over it and the smell was held back(we did not need to use the furnace). There were more rules to check out that I had not experianced with other VRBO properties that I have rented over the years, it was stressful to need to wipe down the toilet and sink, refrigrator, sweep out the property. I was on vacation.

Beautiful serene place with an amazing view of Dyer Bay. Loved watching lobster boats work as well as seeing a bald eagle. Great communication throughout our stay. Had all the amenities we needed.

The house is situated in a quiet, peaceful location with an incredible view. We watched lobster boats come and go and seals fishing in the bay. A fantastic place to spend a few days! The house is small and no-frills, but clean, comfortable and well-maintained. We appreciated how it was far enough from Bar Harbor to avoid the August crowds, but close enough to go there for the day. Check in/out was straightforward, and communication was excellent.

Just an incredibly beautiful property and perfect little place for my spouse and two teens. Brought my kayak and paddled every day. My family and I hiked, picked blueberries and went whale watching. From the house we saw bald eagles, osprey, terns and all kinds of other birds in the air — plus seals and porpoises in the water. The fire pit was a great way to end each day.

So relaxing!

We loved staying here! The cottage was comfortable, clean, and a little larger than we were expecting! The shower was a little small…but that wasn’t a deal breaker. Loved having coffee and reading on the deck. We got to observe a lobsterman checking his traps. We made several trips to Milbridge for groceries and a meal. The highlight was the Catch Your Own Lobster (most of us watched) Boat Trip…lots of seals…and a delicious lobster dinner at the dock. If we lived closer, we would do it all again!

We had a great stay in Steuben! The view from the deck is amazing, especially at sunset! We found some great hikes and fun places to eat in the area. The cabin is cozy and had what we needed and communication was excellent.

Best place to watch the sunset

Our family was visiting the area for a few days and were so pleased with our pick. It is the cleanest property we have ever stayed at. Not a speck of dirt or dust anywhere. Communication was great but the best is the deck overlooking the water and the amazing sunsets. Thank you!

Maine Lobsta shack

Old school warm cozy cottage! Great host and very clean! Love the view and the sunsets. We saw seals and an Eagle. Watched the Lobsterman return from their journey. This was our 3rd visit and will definitely be coming back.

Perfect getaway from it all

Great communication from check in until we left. Property is gorgeous. Positive: safety is no issue, if anything goes wrong the owner lives on property and is quick to help, and porch is perfect spot to sit and relax. Best hiking without the crowds is nearby! Not so positive: could really use some updates on the couch and beds. Could use a few throw blankets for the very cold evenings (we r from the south). The heater sounds like a rocket ship taking off in living room. Lol fyi: make sure to make reservations for the ferry and for anything that needs reservations such as Cadillac mtn well in advance. Be aware of things closing up the weekend of “Columbus Day” if u go in the fall.

Coastal Maine Dream

The trip was booked for the view and it did not disappoint. The ability to watch lobster fishing from the deck is worth the stay. The property is exactly what we read about and what we enjoyed during our stay. Arnold delivered as a host and we would choose him again.
