The room was clean, but very antiquated and worn out. The hallways and elevator were dirty. The room keys are 30 year old technology and they won’t work if you put them anywhere near your phone or keys or anything electronic… and you’ll need that key to work if you want to enter after 10pm. Patio door doesn’t lock. The photos on the hotel listing are from 10+ years ago. They won’t change your reservation even with 48 hours notice. This hotel is comparable to a motel. Worth no more than $90/night. The area is safe. The front desk staff are very kind. They’re the best part about the place. Otherwise, it’s in shambles. Nothing like the listing shows.

The door didn’t open when k walked up so I manually pulled the door apart to enter and was yelled out by the person at the front desk for opening a locked door. The elevator smelled like weed and although there was hardly anyone at the hotel I was placed on the side of the highway where it was very loud all night.

Room was clean, spacious and adequately equipped. Coffee pot would not function, but the duty manager, clerk and maintenance person all 3 responded timely and replaced it wiithin 15 minutes after I reported it. I'm an 86 yr old veteran who served 22 yrs in the US Navy circa 1956-1978. I arrived at the hotel 1.5 hrs before the standard checkin time, tired and needing some rest. I asked the day clerk if it would be possible to do an early check in. She said "... yes, but there would be an additional fee..." I told her i would not pay any fee for a 1.5 hr early check in. Then I went back to my car in the parking lot and slept until 3:30pm, at which time I checked in. If that's Forest Park by MDR's attitude and policy I wont be lodging with you in the fiuture.
