Breaking Waves is a traditional fisherman’s cottage arranged over three floors, nestled in a quiet corner of Downalong in St Ives. Beautifully presented and welcoming to dogs, this inviting retreat is just a short walk from the sandy shores of Porthmeor and Porthgwidden beach - perfect for surfing, swimming or family days exploring rock pools. The town’s well-known galleries, eateries, cafés and independent shops are all within easy reach, making it an ideal getaway whatever the season.
Inside, the ground floor opens into a sociable living, dining, and kitchen area. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern conveniences, including a dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment, electric hob and oven, microwave, washing machine and a Krups coffee machine designed for Nespresso pods. The comfortable living space has a Smart TV and a dining table that can be extended to accommodate up to six guests.
Upstairs, the second-floor main bedroom offers a charming, vaulted ceiling, a double bed, TV and its own ensuite shower room with wash hand basin and WC. On the first floor, there is a second double bedroom with a handy walk-in wardrobe, as well as the family bathroom, which includes a shower over the bath, heated towel rail, wash hand basin and WC. The third bedroom, also located on the upper level, features another vaulted ceiling and is furnished with a single bed and pull-out trundle, providing flexible sleeping options.
To the front of the cottage, a wooden bench creates a lovely spot to enjoy a morning coffee or relax with a drink after a day discovering all that St Ives has to offer.
