Positives first....Staff was very friendly and professional; breakfast was a good selection and clean, bed was very comfortable, and air conditioning and heater worked well. Location was very convenient to downtown Northampton. Negatives were there was a gap under the door to the outside and someone smoking pot outside room so it came right into our room. Don't think the gap under the door will work well in the winter or during heavy rain. Fire detector inside room did not have a cover so wiring was exposed. Outlets in the bathroom are placed so that the nightlight is right in your eyes when sleeping unless bathroom door is shut. Stained carpet, and bathroom had not been updated since the 1970's and shampoo and conditioner containers were hard to use. TV channels very limited and there was no guide as a reference for what the different channels were. We came on a busy fall weekend, but the price was easily double what it should have been for the condition of the hotel. I've paid half that for a new renovated room at many other hotels.
