"This is a Navajo owned and operated property. The lodge is charming and even though the carpet is dated, the room was very clean. The trading post (gift shop) has very reasonable prices and a huge variety of Native American Art. The cafeteria was our biggest surprise. The food was really good, large portions at good prices. There is also a menu to order from if you don't like what's on the line. Try the Blue Corn Pancakes. Most importantly take one of the Thunderbird Lodge tours. If you like RUINS - you'll see 8 during the 4 hour tour on a super fun Pinzgauer truck. There are tons of PICTOGRAPHS on this tour as well. take a good zoom camera! Our guide was Terrill- he was funny and informative."
