To be honest, it was my first time coming to south Padre island for a birthday getaway vacation and I have to say from the moment we checked in to our hotel room here at the holiday inn it’s been nothing but a disappointment and dissatisfaction overall. Starting first with the smell of the carpet
In the hallway and in our room.. it smelled wet and moldy even when we walked around in our room the carpet felt wet and cold…?! Second when it came to our bathroom the toilet never seemed to have enough water to flush so it was uncomfortable to use it at times when you needed to do #2… third, our bathtub kept flooding everytime we showered from the beach the water would took forever to go down like they never clean the drains or so… feels nasty knowing your just bathing in a flooded bathtub. Fourth, the hotel doesn’t have coffee unless you dine in the morning at the restaurant and their other coffee options are the “Costa” coffee machines which was a waste of time because unfortunately both machines were out of order…. Overall the only good thing I can say is the staff were great and helpful, the location was also great because we had access to the beach and the jetties near by and other cool restaurants and shops. I just wouldn’t ever book here again.. Holiday Inn needs to remodel and come up with better ideas and solutions to there outdated hotel decor and rooms.
