I didn’t have and ocean view but I did see the mountains. The hotel is very large and walking distance to dining and shopping. My only complaint is that the birds kept me awake a lot. The staff was accommodating and the service was great. The rooms were very clean.

Stay at Simpson Bay studio suite turned out to actually be in steep, uphill Royal resort bldg with no view of water, not close to beach and room itself faced parking lot. Room was clean, although the water faucets for some reason leaked, and the most annoying part of stay was that you needed to walk to a “towel booth” near the security booth to get clean towels, rather than having them available by pool. Parking was luckily available, and renting a car would be needed for this hotel, as well as for ease in getting around.

I wish the staff would smile more, from front desk to cleaners to restaurant staff. They make it seem like the guests are annoying or something. Maybe it's a cultural thing. The room was very clean and nice to have a real kitchen. Just note that the room is not cleaned everyday. But, that's no problem as they provide several extra towels in the closet. Its a bit impractical to have to go the beach to get a swim towel for the pool. But, I enjoyed the pool area, especially the shaded seating. The biggest issue for us was the breakfast . I regret getting the breakfast package. It is disorganized. Coffee and water are slow to come. Cream for your coffee may come half way into your meal. One day, staff sat us at an occupied table, then moved us without apology. Just overall bad service at breakfast. Check out took a while, also. Staff just seems lackadaisical. I can't recommend this place.

The Plus Studio is large and well appointed. Very comfortable bed. I appreciated the accommodation for my limited walking. The resort offers many amenities. Getting to them can be difficult. Roads are small and not in good condition.
