Simpson Bay is a quiet neighborhood just around the corner of all action you might be looking for. Super close to casinos, restaurants and the bakery. Of course the beach is at 5 minutes walking distance too.
There are so many things to do in less than a 5 minute walk or drive. There is local transport at 1 minute from your apartment but of course you can also rent a car (smallest are at about 25/35$ a day) as there are so many places to visit at both sides of the island.
Numerous bars, restaurants, supermarkets, activities, marinas with ferries to other islands are close to home. There are shops, spa's, a golf course, marinas with ferries to other islands, water sports and a movie theater. The capital Philipsburg on the Dutch side and Marigot on the French side offer duty free shopping and local markets. Visit Pinel Island for a great day on the beach or go to Grand Case for a French dining experience. One of the things St Maarten is famous for is the sight of the planes landing on Juliana airport - over Maho Beach. Just past the airport you will find the famous Sunset Beach Bar and Driftwood bar where the planes practically land on your head.
