I came here for 5 days. I had a work meeting and then a girls trip tacked onto the end. This hotel had amazing staff, the pool is perfect! The rooftop bar has amazing views. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Many people I traveled with said they wished they had booked here instead of their hotels. I would 1000% recommend this hotel.
I was just there for one night, but it was a really pleasant stay. I ate at the Julian restaurant and Maria was my server. She was certainly the highlight. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. The food was delicious. The amenities are really cool and trendy, including the rooftop bar. It’s nice there is something to do on the premises. The rooms are very nice, well designed. Bed was not the most comfortable but by no means the worst. The shower water pressure was great. Would stay again.
Beautiful hotel, beautiful rooms with view of the river. Local welcome beer was a great touch. Rooftop was gorgeous but gets busy, go early for sunset. Fleeting was delicious, however their cacio e Pepe wasn’t really cacio e Pepe at all, more an entirely different pasta dish. Still delicious. This area is a tad removed from town but still very close access, a bit of a hike to walk if it’s hot out. Really nice river views though and so comfortable and nice.
Staff were amazing!! Always attentive, eager to help and always friendly.
Our view was incredible and we loved being close to shopping and dining opportunities.
The hotel car driver was friendly, always on time and offered suggestions on local attractions.
The concierge was very knowledgeable of the entire city and always had answers for all our questions. She even offered additional information and ideas.
A lovely experience for a great Mother/daughter getaway.
We will return and tell our friends about Thompson Hotel Savannah.
Absolutely loved our stay at the property. Every staff member of the hotel was extremely nice and professional. The room was so cozy and clean.
Check out the rooftop bar Julian, our server Sara was so wonderful and attentive and caring, she made us feel special.
Don’t book a King room thinking you will get an actual King Size bed. Room description is very misleading. Complained at the front desk about the size of the bed. Was told it was a “Hotel King”. Was offered a credit. Never happened. Contacted Expedia, was not able to get any type of refund.
The bar is way over priced. Present guests with dirty disgusting overly worn menus.
Had to request coffee pods for the coffee maker multiple times. Riverfront rooms can hear the cargo ships from the river all night long. Beds are very uncomfortable.
The place was very nice, clean, and my room had the view of the water. It was at the end so I came out the door made a left right on to the river walk. I only had breakfast on the rooftop it was very good and get with the house bread.
Thompson Savannah was the perfect little getaway for our anniversary weekend! The environment inside the hotel was lovely and we loved being able to have our fur baby with us with no restrictions based on his breed or size. The staff at Thompson Savannah was amazing and even after having an issue with our key cards an hour after checking in the team made our stay a welcoming, relaxing one!
As far as the amenities, the hotel had multiple restaurant and bar options and a bakery. The food was pretty decent at the three restaurants. There was also live music at specific hours which was a perfect addition. The hotel location is perfect if you want to be far enough away from the main streets to avoid traffic but close enough to be able to walk to the River Street and the marketplace in a few minutes. The view from the 11th floor was mesmerizing as you can see the whole river street, port and buildings!
The only thing I wish that could have been better was the pool area as the pool itself was small and the areas surrounding the pool gave us the feeling of overcrowding due to the number of furniture and the tighter space. Even with less than 10 people in the pool, the whole pool area felt very overcrowded. We ended up not using the pool due to our own personal decision as we were looking for a more relaxed environment to celebrate our anniversary in.
Other than that, it is a great hotel to stay at during your visit to Savannah!
