The people in the front desk were super, super nice, but when we got there it seems like the room we were supposed to get wasn’t ready so they tried accommodating us in a smaller room when I had payed for a bigger one. It wasn’t till I brought it to their attention that they moved us. There was black mold on the walls and in the bathroom shower heads. The bed we slept in was quite literally two twin beds put together so there was a separation between my husband and I. There was a ceiling fan but the AC never worked during our stay, (not sure if the power was really out but they kept a generator on that made a lot of noise and they kept turning it on and off during the nighttime), and the only window in the room was very small and provided 0 privacy for us if we left it opened for some breeze to enter. Also it was not very clean and I never received the two complementary drinks we were supposed to get, in fact, when my husband went to claim them, they charged him for them. Overall, the place is very different than what it looks like in the pictures.

Well let me start telling you guys this. I’ve been in Santo Domingo so many times due to my fiance whom has to stay there for awhile so i ve been in so many places.. that been said this cozy hotel gave us anything and everything we could hoped for.. HOT WATER fof god sakes! Lol and nice pool hot tub on the terrace, very friendly staff and excellent location.. rooms are so authentic and beds are sooo comfortable.a/c and fan in rooms and everything works! We loved it and hopefully we will stay there upcoming months as well. Highly recommend you guys won’t be disappointed I guarantee that. The pictures are real and exactly shows how the hotel looks like

I have mixed feelings about this hotel, it has one of the best guest book, it shows they care about their guests, and the hotel is in a beautiful old house, high ceilings, nice yard, lots of space for social, group activities, but on the other hand, it seems lack of maintenance in the room, at least the room I was in, wall sockets are old, my charging plug kept falling off，the hair dryer didn’t work, no lamp on the night stand, all small things, but shouldn’t happen in a Boutique hotel, I hope the changes are on the way, overall, I still like this hotel, the location is great.

Habíamos reservado dos camas y solo nos dieron una y un sofá. Vimos una cucaracha en el baño. Las calles alrededor son sucias y no son las más bonitas pero solo caminas 7 minutos y está toda la zona colonial de restaurantes y bares. Tiene una linda piscina y un jacuzzi en la parte alta. Por lo demás, el personal es de lo más amable.

The place was charming and very close to the main tourist area. Just don't walk the wrong way, because it gets sketchy pretty quickly. The staff was great and went above and beyond. Unfortunately there was an issue with the electricity in the building---it seemed to be an city infrastructure issue, and there is nothing the hotel could have done to prevent it. They actually moved us to another hotel for our last night, and they handled everything with professionalism and grace under difficult circumstances.
