I stayed here for two nights and wanted to share a balanced take. The hotel is very affordable, and the location in Santa Ana works well. Parking is simple, in and out, and the room itself had a mild renovation. The carpet looked new, the bed was comfortable, and I slept well. A few things to know. The bathroom is tight and not the easiest to move around in. The property is in the middle of renovations, and some areas of the hotel have strong industrial odors that were almost overwhelming. Thankfully, my room could be closed off enough that the smell didn’t seep in. The AC/heater is an older wall unit and runs loud. There are also no real services on-site — no morning coffee setup, no restaurant, no room service. The hotel is between brand names right now, so it has a quirky, transitional feel. For the price, I don’t regret staying here, but I wouldn’t return because of the odors and the lack of basic execution. It’s budget-friendly, but still has a way to go.
