Warning! Upon arrival, our rooms were dirty. Linens on the floor, trash overflowing from the garbage bins, dirty shower & sinks dirty. Also, the entire floor had a foul odor. We were given 4 different rooms at which we were told every available room on the 2nd floor was dirty because a worker did not report to work on the 9th.
Also, there were adults in the pool drinking Alcohol & Vaping. They invited me & our young children to join in on the “fun.” We counted at least 15 to 20 open liquor bottles surrounding the pool. We were also told that they live there and that the party will continue all weekend - this was said by one of the men in the pool.
We complained to the front desk and were told to contact Cheaptickets for a full refund because we decided to leave after only being at the hotel for less than 4 hours after feeling unsafe. We were specifically told by the front desk staff that we would not be charged for the stay. Thank God for the ability to voice record.
However, after filing a complaint through Cheaptickets, the Manager at the hotel by the name of Shelby declined our refund per Cheaptickets.
Now, we have an active complaint through Choice Hotels against the property and awaiting a response from the Owner. It has been a few days with no response.
We plan to release our photos and videos & voice recordings of what we witnessed to a media outlet in Sandusky, Ohio and other Social Media platforms to warn the public.
