We like this hotel. This is the 3rd time we've stayed here and every other time was great. We specifically booked this time to sit by the firepit and sit in the jacuzzi and use the pool. When we arrived at 3pm on Saturday, the pool was closed, and the jacuzzi was cold and the firepit wasn't working. My wife told the front desk person, who said "sorry." A maintenance worker came out and said "the jacuzzi was turned off, I turned it on, it won't be hot for a few hours." My wife said "this is like going to Disneyland and finding out your favorite ride is not working." As I said, we choose to come here. We would assume your staff in the morning, especially on a Saturday, would check to see if the jacuzzi was turned on or not. Not what we expected.

Was very happy, pleased, and satisfied with my stay at the best Western Royal Oak in San Luis Obispo, California. The room was spacious and comfortable and cozy. My wife and I had a wonderful time. Great staff awesome service kind and very happy people would definitely stay there over and over again. The accommodation was amazing. My only critique that I would make is the toilet in our bathroom was a little too short. I’m a taller guy, if they could just raise the toilet a few inches that would be great but the cleanliness the hospitality and the friendliness was fantastic.

Pool was out of order and breakfast room was cold but otherwise perfect hotel and great location. Super nice staff, breakfast was delicious, free hot chocolate/ coffee machine and very nice center patio with warm fireplace. We will for sure be retuning to this hotel.

I'd really like to know why Best Western keeps a pretty unkempt and worn floored fitness room when this perk is something many guests would love to enjoy. The equipment is organized in a very small (and almost unsafe manner) for any kind of exercise. For example, they have one or two unwashed yoga mats that can be placed in just a small footprint between two exercise bikes and machinery. This is just begging for an accident. Please increase the fitness space in your establishments. You will capture more customers this way and they will feel better about themselves. The shower water runs out of the basin and floods the bathroom. The curtain and or threshold is not enough to prevent this. Clean mattresses and ample television options.
