Superb location! Room was adequate. Clean, updated. We didn’t see an employee the whole time we were there. We had to carry our luggage up to the third floor, which was do-able, but a little struggle. Their communication was good via email and what’s-app. They said they would have someone there at our arrival time, but there was no one there. No big deal. I would definitely stay again due to the location. So close to restaurants etc in the heart of San Juan. And we were able to leave our luggage there before our cruise headed out.

Room was spotless and big the owner Maricruz was the best host. It was my first time in a guest house and was the best experience,after a cancelled flight I stayed there for 3 nights and she helped me with everything I would recommend Hugo's for everyone who wants to stay in old San Juan thanks again Mari I will be back.

Oh where to begin…. I’ve stayed in MANY, MANY places in Old San Juan & Condado & this place was hands down the biggest disappointment. We arrived to find NOBODY to help us check-in which would’ve been fine had we any clue what room we belonged in. The poor housekeeper spoke ZERO English, again, that’s fine as I don’t expect everyone to but c’mon… so we stood around until the poor housekeeper made a call to the manager, owner? Got our info & found the room. Ok s..t happens, we moved on from it. Now here’s where you might want to pay attention. DO YOU LIKE SLEEP? Like, maybe even just a few hours of uninterrupted by loud ass ppl that sound like they’re actually IN your room? Then pick another place for this reason alone, OMG the noise level was off the charts. The place echoes, the doors have gaps so large my husband told me he can see right into the room so “don’t undress in here, use the bathroom”. Speaking of the bathroom, do you like hot showers? Do you like lukewarm showers that last 3 minutes? Do you expect to be able to get a cell signal to be able to call & receive calls/texts? So there IS a TV but good luck getting a signal. Wanna know just how bad the place is, WE CHECKED OUT EARLY & went to another place. I was told I’d be refunded but no surprise, that didn’t happen. Do yourself a favor and pick another place!!!

Due to the government restrictions we were unable to fly to Puerto Rico. The hotel would not change or refund our payment. I was very surprised and disappointed due to the fact that it was beyond our control. Customer service beyond all else is key to a great establishment. We will never recommend this hotel.
