The experience here was not what I expected at all… to begin, the description states there is self parking available, which there wasn’t. They only have ‘valet’ service, but you park your own car. We parked in a space where there was a single space, not two parking spaces (with one in front of the other), and we had our pick up truck. Perfect space to park it. Our car was moved to a different area of the garage and parked behind another vehicle. Moving our truck was unnecessary. The ‘valet’ service only keeps your car keys and charges you $60. You pick up your own car…. So we wanted our refund due to incorrect description of services but they ignored the calls and when I spoke to the lady at the front desk, she immediately cut me off and gave me attitude, speaking in a rude tone. As far as the room, it’s a basic room, nothing special about it. It did smell like cigarettes and the smoke detector was pulled off. The morning staff did not acknowledge us as we walked out and back in during our morning walk. No hello, no eye contact, no smile. They don’t communicate you have to pay for the ‘valet’ service during check out, and we went down and up and back down with our luggage to pay for the garage parking. Overall hospitality was a big negative and will not be returning to this hotel.

The best park is the hotel is walkable to many things, also if you fly in you can take the bart to the Pickwick the drop off and pick is a five minute train ride. My only complaint is that the property is really dated it needs a complete renovation!!

I like staying at the Pickwick because it is so convienient for the areas that I need to go... right on bus route 14. The cleaning staff were wonderful. The restaurant is good.

Cheap, cheerful, fine for a budget traveler

Staff is great, room is cheap (budget) condition carpet and paint and quite dated, and a bit noisy. However for a cheap safe place to stay in S.F. it is fine. It is not a honeymoon destination by any stretch. But fine for a business traveler or student on a tight budget.
