Great decor, close to the concert venue our son was going to. Parking was a bit difficult so we had to circle around a few times until the front desk guy came out and explained it was confusing. The room was charming, warm, and cozy—I had a very comfortable night there. The staff were exceptionally kind, even more so than at other hotels I’ve stayed at. I also loved the selection at the market. The local San Francisco ice cream was absolutely delicious. If you’re visiting downtown, this would be a great and interesting option to consider.

I have stayed here for 20 years, it was The Opal and it has been gorgeously remodeled but has all the things I love before. In and out enclosed parking, Mel’s Diner attached so food mostly anytime, comfortable beds👍, conveniently located at Van Ness and Geary Street so Ubers and cabs etc are easy. Tommy’s Joint an SF favorite for great food, beer and cocktails across the street. And a big movie theater practically next door. Very reasonable price for how nice it is now.
