I was staying for an event at the convention center, Merry is an amazing person at the front desk and really made the stay special. I was thrilled with this experience and location (in the middle of everything and public transit). Amazing, Amazing. Amazing!

Beautiful historic hotel. Not the cookie cutter generic hotel. Clean. No smells. Comfortable bed. Friendly, helpful staff. Great location with huge number of restaurant options. Yes, if you stay in this active area, there will be noise outside. No fault of the hotel, and the hotel walls itself were very solid. I'm really glad I stayed here and if in downtown San Diego again, will stay here again.
