The hotel itself was amazing—beautiful views, a wonderful scent throughout the property, and an overall lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately, my experience during check-in detracted from what would have otherwise been a five-star stay.
One of the staff members (Alyssa?) at the main entrance appeared visibly upset and was unwelcoming. I observed her interaction with the guests ahead of me, who asked if she spoke Spanish because their son was translating. Her response was dismissive and lacked courtesy, she simply shook her head no without acknowledging them or offering assistance. Having worked in customer service, I believe a more appropriate response would have been to offer to find someone who could help.
When it was my turn, the same staff member was similarly rude and did not ask if I wanted valet parking, despite offering this service to every guest before me. This made me feel singled out.
Aside from this interaction, everything else about the hotel was excellent. With improved consistency in customer service at the entrance, this property would easily merit a five-star review.
