This host has pluses and minuses in my book. As far as the hosts’ initial friendliness and flexibility on arrival time (a nice perk), stunning interior, the home is a hit having elements straight from Home & Garden. It is sparse on kitchen offerings, but is adequate. It’s a spacious layout, and I was looking forward to securing this location, assuming that it would look like the listing with the manicured yard; however, that was the first flag. Weeds are overgrown and in places, hip high, so it appeared that the curb appeal of the property is not a focus….indicating that some other areas might also be amiss…During the night while trying to fall asleep, my spouse and I kept having scratchy throats and became nasally, began sneezing, and I started wheezing!. (We hadn’t spent much time upon arrival because we were there for a much needed bereavement respite in the city) but when we returned, we were sleepy and hadn’t looked up to inspect the air return, which had LAYERS of dust, soot, and clumps of lint and maybe animal hair? We visually looked to see just how dirty the filter must also be, only to discover that there was no air filter. This is unheard of for the completion of the loop of HVAC maintenance and upkeep, and causes not only the ducts to be gross, but allows debris to circulate throughout the air in the home. The host was defensive about this and displayed more righteousness than concern for my health. We are both bad off & have to be seen in the morning by Dr
