We traveled to Salt Lake City to take in the Mammoth Hockey game. This was a premium hotel and a short walk to the Delta Center. The rate we received was awesome for this class of hotel and we were extremely pleased with the value, not only for the hotel, but also for Salt Lake City in general. We plan to return to see more of the city and the state. Very enjoyable.

Rooms are newer and modern, but poorly constructed. Pillows are a lumpy mess. Carpeting and tiling have visible gaps, bathroom tiling has gaps. Breakfast was the worst I've ever encountered at any Marriott. The Spring Hill suites four blocks away does everything better for the same quality accommodations. Parking also cost $25/ day. Again, just for blocks away the parking is free and the breakfast is better with real oatmeal and decent coffee instead of pouches and broken coffee machine and a couple of dry bagels and brown bananas. Didn't even bother with breakfast the second day - that's how bad it was. I've stayed in a lot of Marriotts over the years from 3 to 5 stars, and this is by far the one of the most modern ones, but also cheaply constructed and you can see corners cut everywhere. Elevators were amazingly fast and the cleaning service staff wonderful and helpful.
