This was our third year staying here. We love Christy and her husband. They live on the island so if anything comes up they're right there. I love the spot because you see more marine life vs the beach. Water shoes is a must. But if you want beach just hop on the golf cart, go down the road. You can see it from the house. Beautiful house. I don't think we ever turned the TV on cause your outside the whole time. But Christy is fabulous. Schedules the taxi ferry and golf cart. Cause thats all you need is a golf cart to get around. Very safe island! We're just trying to get to where we can come twice a year. Lol!

Absolutely Wonderful!

This was our first time to Spanish Wells/Russell, and it will not be our last! The Sweetings were attentive, helpful, and considerate. Our house was beautiful and spotless. We loved the private beach area and all the amenities that came with the house. We couldn't be happier!

Paradise under the stars

We stayed here over Christmas with 2 teenage daughters and had a great and relaxing 6 day stay. I have never had a host as attentive and helpful as Christy. They made sure that we were met at the airport and shuttled all the way to the island, and gave us a quick tour of the island. The cottage was perfect and so relaxing. I have never seen so many stars at night as we did on this island. We even slept out under the stars on Christmas night. It was surreal. I have stayed at many rentals, but Sandy Shoes stands out and I would recommend it to anyone. (Also the starfish and snorkeling right off the shore was great..just wear water shoes).

A Piece of Paradise

Everything about our trip was amazing! Christy and Shane were so helpful and always responded within minutes to any questions we had. The property was perfect, and very well appointed. The beach and access to the water was even better than advertised. The location of the property felt so private but was also just a quick golf cart ride away from the restaurants and stores. We will absolutely be coming back to the island again and would love to stay at one of Christy and Shane's amazing properties!

Fantastic property and great owners!

First of all, Christy was in touch with us before we even arrived to make sure we were all set when we arrived. Then Christy and Shane met us at ferry dock with a golf cart to use during our stay and pointed out areas of interest on the way to property. The cottage is located on a beautiful, well maintained property with 2 other units, but this one is on the water. This well put together unit has a great view and there's no traffic buzzing by all day, so it's nice and quiet.The beach is right outside your door and is shared with the other units, but there are plenty of water toys, chairs, two day beds, and shade for everyone. There are two sets of stairs that lead into the water and there are turtles and fish right off the wall. Bring water shoes due to the urchins and the rocks, however. See sunrise and sunset right from your own beach!!! And if you are done with the gorgeous sunshine, or just need some A/C, the unit has good internet, Roku TV, a real washer and dryer, and some kitchen essentials (spices,foil, soap, oils, and dish-wares). And if you are coffee addicts like us, there's your standard coffee machine and a Keurig (you can buy individual pods at the grocery if you didn't bring your own). All in all a great stay in a quiet part of Spanish Wells.

Loved everything about it!

We enjoyed this house so much! The location was perfect for us and I loved having both the sand and rocky shore. The house was beautiful and suited us perfectly! Christy and Shane were absolutely great also! We definitely recommend using them for a boating excursion! We can’t wait to come back!!

The house was very clean and cute, and the property is located in a very quiet area along with an amazing view. The owners were very nice and helpful with everything. We had no problems with communication or with the house at all. This is the perfect house for a relaxing stay in spanish wells.

Great hosts but the house isn't that private unfortunately :(

We really wanted to love this place and give 5 stars but three things we wish we knew before we booked: 1) you are oceanfront, but there's no sand so be prepared to have water shoes 2) the water sports equipment and "beach" area is shared with other houses on the property, it's not yours 3) there are other houses being built on the property and it's effectively an active construction site...which means workers were milling around outside our house so there was 0 privacy for a few hours which was especially disappointing because my wife came out of the shower and saw someone through the window thinking this place was private. Other than that, the house is lovely, the hosts were very communicative (and apologetic about the construction work), but the three things above would make me book a different place had I known :(

Wow! Such a pleasant fun place to stay! Property was amazing and just as advertised. Christy was fantastic to work with and took great care of us. Christy , Was the perfect host!. From arranging our cab and meeting us at the docks. She also showed us around the island which is beautiful. The only thing we thought there was a beach that you could walk on from the house. But with the golf cart you could be at a beach in 5min or less.

Incredible views from and beautifully appointed home!

We had the chance to spend a long weekend with our teenage daughters, and this home was perfect! The host is magnificent and super accommodating. The house itself was in immaculate condition, had all the things we could’ve needed, and was located in a beautiful area. We would love to come back as soon as possible. We cannot recommend this property highly enough.

Great place, amazing hosts, we will be back

The place was clean and included all of the amenities needed. The hosts were wonderful, picking us up at the ferry and leading us to the rental. The unit came with a golf cart which was great, and one less thing for us to deal with. Owners had a pack-and-play for us. They had kayaks, paddle boards, and beach furniture. While its not in the heart of Spanish Wells, its a small area and really easy to get around with the golf cart. We grilled lobster on the beach with the neighbors, and sat around a bonfire after the sun went down. In short, it was everything you hope a rental will be when you book. 5 out of 5

Incredible!

We can’t say enough amazing things about this place or Christie and Shane! The house is the most adorable thing ever and I wanted to take it home with me! The location is great with the little beach! Nothing is longer than a 10 minute buggy ride away. They were beyond helpful every step of the way even after our arrival! We had a buggy that didn’t want to start and they met us at a restaurant within minutes to switch it out. Our weather wasn’t the greatest, but Shane knew exactly when we would have the best chance at enjoying our excursion and it did not disappoint! Make sure to book something with him!! Overall, we would recommend this property and anything else Christie and Shane are a part of! Such a lovely couple and their passion for Spanish Wells shows!

Beyond expectations!

There are no words to describe this place, but I’ll try! Heaven on earth and paradise just aren’t descriptive enough. The super sweet hospitable owners went over and beyond to help coordinate arrival and departure for us and make it smooth. The place was very clean and I’m usually picky about cleanliness- we had 0 complaints. Love having a golf cart to ride. We didn’t get to use kayaks cause it was pretty windy and we were busy exploring on golf cart most time, but was nice to have anyway. Loved the outdoor bed on the beach, we watched the meteor shower and nice breeze kept bugs away. Close to main town on SW and far enough for privacy! Just a Fun “hop skip and jump” over the bridge on golf cart to SW island. Next time we are booking with Seagillian to enjoy some inshore and hopefully do more snorkeling behind house. If you’re hesitant to book on Russell island or here, don’t be! It’s completely safe(& I’m usually fearful of new places, but wasn’t there) and it was perfect location. Can’t wait to come back! Hopefully sooner than later and much longer stay. The layout was awesome. Porch was awesome. Beach behind house was awesome. Only thing I would do different is bring a lot less clothes, a wide brim sun hat, a good pair of water shoes, a good fitting snorkel, and good camera or drone. Cell phone pics just don’t do it justice. Book it, you will not regret it!

What an amazing vacation. My wife and I visited Spanish Wells for a week at the end of August-beginning of September. Sandy Shoes is a wonderful property. Absolutely gorgeous. Both the house and property are super clean. View is incredible. Christy and Shane are amazing hosts and are super nice people. Any request we had was dealt with Immediately, and there was absolutely nothing to complain about. Christy was kind enough to arrange transportation for us to and from the airport. She even took the time to give us a personal tour of the island and get us situated when we arrived. Property and hosts were 10/10. We are already planning our trip back. We cannot wait.

This trip was unbelievable! Christy and Shane were the best hosts we have ever had. Christy met us and showed us around town and we followed her to the cottage. They were so helpful finding a rental car and setting up transportation to and from the airport. The cottage was perfect and even better than advertised!

Spanish Wells Heaven

The rental property was wonderful. The water was beautiful. We rented from Christy a d Shane and also did an excursion thru them which was the highlight of the trip. Loved they had transportation for us already. And they made travel arrangements to get to the island. The house had everything we needed and even had kayaks and paddleboards which were fun as well. Couldn't have asked for a better trip. We got fresh fish and cooked ourselves one night but also ate at many of the restaurants. Definately would recommend anyone to book this stay. 5+ stars for sure!

Perfect stay!

My husband and I just returned from an amazing vacation in the Bahamas! Sandy Shoes/Sweetings Paradise was the perfect house for the two of us. The views are amazing and the location wonderful for a true-beach getaway! Thanks, Christy and Shane, for being such great hosts. You answered our questions quick, and the house was in perfect condition. Suggestions for travelers: Eat at the what appears to be the locals' favorite restaurants...Eagle's Landing, The Gap, and Budda's Snack Shack. Great food at reasonable prices. Enjoy the public park! It's honestly the prettiest location on Spanish Wells. Rent a boat. We rented a 17-ft. boat from Harbourside Golf Cart & Boat Rentals. We went to a couple of the nearby islands and just parked the boat, walked the beach, and picnicked. It was wonderful...no buildings, no people. One of the islands DID have a few full-time residents: pigs, chickens, roosters, a turkey, and some ducks. LOL Rent from Christy and Shane for the best vacation you'll ever have! Diane & Frank
