Rooms are clean, property is beautiful, but looks like there are not enough maintenance workers/gardeners to keep it from looking weathered. The food was decent, although it was also at VERY low occupancy when I was there, except for one weekend where there were many locals on the resort for a long weekend, and the dining was mayhem. Food was constantly needing replenishing, no dishes available, tables not being cleared after guests left due to low staffing in the dining room - which led to there being a shortage on glasses, dining plates, cutlery, etc. Most staff were pleasant, although they did not go out of their way to engage if you didn't start the engagement. We are not aware of there being any a la carte dining, although on our last day we saw people heading to another dining room for dinner and assume that was an a la carte restaurant - there was no mention of making any reservations upon check in. Most of the outlets in the room did not work, the sconce lights beside the bed did not work, nor did the telephone in our room, it was as if they were there for decoration only. Many of the alcohol brands that were available to us in July of this year, were not available in September, it was very limited. The only beer on hand is Presidente - not even Red Stripe! This hotel has a long way to go before it comes even close to qualifying as a 4star.
