The balcony offered beautiful views of Lake Huron. The motel was dated, but clean. Staff were wonderful and very friendly and helpful. They have tried to make this a nice motel. Bathroom was clean. I don't really like bedspreads and the sheets were not crisp. No facial tissues. Teeny soap and no conditioner for hair. However, still I liked the place. They offered a better than average continental breakfast, and there was a little library off the dining room.

Shabby, smelly, lock on sliding door missing, missing lightbulbs, insufficient lighting as it was. Changing room floor tiles in pool area broken up, hazardous. Pool and hot tub need to be resurfaced. Room smelled like a smoking room from the 70’s. Shame on hotels.com for listing Driftwood.

This place is so old and outdated - sheets so thin you can see through them. Towels are old too and fridge froze the food while humming noisily. Stairs are dangerous and not well lit. Breakfast was not great.

The view from the top floor balcony is worth any flaws that you may find. This is an older motel but its worth the stay if you're just in town for the weekend. Every room has a balcony on the water side. If you enjoy the sunrise I recommend you take a room on the top floor. We really enjoyed our stay. The room is spacious but the bathroom itself is small. It was perfect for the 3 of us girls on a rock hunting weekend. Definitely worth coming back to stay and will do so again.

Cozy Lakefront Hotel

This was our 3rd year staying at The Driftwood. I love the view of the lake and the simplicity of the room. The only thing I wish is that our room was not always next to the employees living quarters.

We enjoyed our stay. The fire pit was great. The pool was clean and not very busy. Free breakfast was nice as well. The people in the office were very accommodating. Highly recommend.
