Upon entering the cabin, by eye it was beautiful. The setting and porches in the nature were beautiful. As we walked to look around, the downstairs basement was filthy. The shower had old band aids on the soap shelf, hair and dust all over it. The mirror was on the floor with toothpastes splatters. The floors and large rug were not swept or vacuumed. The smell of musty was strong and coming from a old dried up mop. We took the mop outside only for me to step on an old rusty screw. It was dark and alot of the outside lights were not working. We used our flaslight on our phone and picked up about 20 that were scattered on the deck. Underneath the rug by the hammock they were more with nails and screws. The upper bedroom had a large brown stain on the sheets and lady bugs were infested in the cabin. I contacted the host. Her cleaners cleaned the bedding and towels, however we never received another comforter for the main bed as the one used I denied having. We washed the extra blankets ourselves and I cleaned. Everything used during our stay had to be cleaned, the kitchen was a scrub down. They had no necessities like kitchen towels, dish rags, dish soap, 0
We had to throw out all the food on the counters and the meals we had planed to prepare throw out. We had to go to a hotel for the Friday stay-
We were visiting our son who plays junior hockey in Monroe LA. Alot of his teammates stopped by to say hello and his lovely girlfriend stayed with us. What an embarrassment to our guests.
Roaches to us in Michigan means filth. When a home is unkempt amd dirty, roaches appear. So this to us was absolutely disturbing.
No refund given. We have reported this property to VRBO with a open case, BBB and filed a complaint

Husband and I loved staying here. Nice country setting by the river, which you can walk right over to. Beautiful setting. Not a place for your gadgets, which was perfect for us (though the WiFi did well for our phones when needed). The stairs on the outside and inside are pretty serious, even for healthy adults! We’ll be back.

The house was in the most peaceful place. Quiet and relaxing. Quaint, the house is well kept and though its not fancy it was perfect. We truly enjoyed our stay.
