Good location

Our 3 night stay formed the completion of our 18 day journey around Iceland. The hotel is in a great location for visiting the Downtown area. Accommodation could be improved somewhat. The bed was rock hard, however a mattress topper was available on request. The room had minimal ventilation with only a tiny high window in the corner of the room. The room was quite warm to the point of uncomfortable. Breakfast I would rate as very good as far as options go, with the usual hot and cold offerings. However as the hotel is used as a stopover for large tour groups the breakfast room is quite noisy, especially with the occasional inconsiderate guests insisting on having their phone videos playing at high volume. Uggh!! If you are looking at spending a few days in Reykjavik I would suggest booking ahead at the SIF apartments immediately adjacent to the hotel, where our travel companions were staying, and self-cater. Very clean, modern, laundry, kitchen.

Typical European style hotel. The heaters were blasting and we could not adjust the temperature so we had to open the window but still hot all night and could not sleep.

Stayed 5 nights would have left after one but had prepaid. Sound from room to room was ABSOLUTELY the worst. 4 nights of intermittent sleep.. last night one good one. Given the cost totally unacceptable. complained several times, hotel was full first three days so couldn’t change rooms then person above checked out..I thought maybe they were just noisy. NOPE next person just as noisy heavy foot fall, moving stuff etc. 12:45-1:30AM crazy noise. Would never stay here again. Also this is their “flagship” Fosshotel. Unbeliable. Everything else was actually great, staff, breakfast, housekeeping.

Everything was perfect! The hotel is ideally located—close to the main shopping streets, very walkable, and yet pleasantly quiet. It’s probably the tallest building in Reykjavík aside from Hallgrímskirkja, and from our room, we had stunning views of the city’s main attractions, including Hallgrímskirkja and Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre. During our stay, there was a cultural event in the city, and we were lucky enough to watch the fireworks right from our room. The breakfast was excellent every morning—fresh, varied, and delicious. What made our stay even more special was how the hotel celebrated my daughter’s birthday. They surprised her with a sweet plate and a heartfelt card, which truly made her day. Thank you so much for the thoughtful gesture and for making our stay unforgettable!

The parking options weren’t ideal yet the staff helped us avoid high costs of the ramp. We walked to city center yet drove to sky lagoon. The beer garden was great after a long day of adventures. The breakfast buffet was wonderful - lots of fresh food and bakery items.

Good location for the hotel to shopping, dining and other sights and there is plenty to do. Also close to bus station 12 which is a major pickup and drop off for various tours out of Reykjavik.
