Alfred’s Apartments turned out to be a brilliant last-minute find after I accidentally made a complete mess of my previous booking. The location was absolutely terrific — right in the heart of Reykjavík and ideal for exploring the city. The apartment was spotlessly clean, the bed was wonderfully comfortable, and having a small kitchen was an absolute lifesaver. Given Reykjavík prices, where even a bowl of soup can set you back nearly $20, being able to prepare the occasional meal made a real difference. Everything is self-service for check-in, but the owner/manager was incredibly helpful and made sure I got in safely despite my rather last-minute circumstances. For Reykjavík, this felt like exceptionally good value.

Bright and clean studio. Quiet at night. Street parking (less expensive than garage). We stayed in the room with a balcony at the top. Staircase is steep when carrying luggage up, just an FYI. Beds were comfortable and we didn’t need heat as the room was naturally warm. Small kitchenette was well stocked. Location is close to shops and restaurants. Would recommend.

Really enjoyed our stay at Alfred's Studios. A short walk to the bay, lots of dining options around, and with two teenagers it was great to have more than a hotel room. The communication with the staff was excellent.
