The Mountaineer Cabin at Starr Mountain Retreat

This 512 sq. ft. cabin, with additional loft space is nestled in the heart of the Cherokee National Forest. This cabin is very private and sleeps up to 6 people. Sitting on the porch, you have tree house views of the surrounding woods. It is close to the Hiwassee river which has rafting and tubing as well as fishing. National Forest hiking trails are right across the road from the main entrance and horse friendly. A small corral for all the cabins is also available for up to six horses.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned cabin, featuring a kitchen with a refrigerator and an oven. There's a private patio. A kitchenette is outfitted with a stovetop and a microwave. A Smart television along with a DVD player are provided for your entertainment.
Enjoy recreation amenities such as a hot tub or take in the view from a garden.

This cabin was perfect for me, my boyfriend, and our two dogs. They had all the essential needs for basic meals in the kitchen and even provided extra super cozy blankets. We did have a visit on two separate nights from two dogs which we assume live in a nearby place, just something to keep in mind as our dogs are dog reactive! If we choose to visit this area again we will definitely be rebooking!

There is no privacy. The owners dog was running around the property barking at every sound all day and night. Jumped on me and got new shoes muddy. Hot tub was not clean. Stove has lots of rust on it. The shower sounded like it was screaming. Cabin smelled like dirty wet dog. Lots of other issues.

Very quiet, calming space.Especially enjoyed the art and lamps. All the furniture is very comfortable. The morning light highlights everything. The hot is so relaxing, plus the cover above the hot tub is such a great idea.

Beautiful Getaway

The cabin was very comfortable and decorated beautifully. It was stocked with everything we needed and in a great location. The property is full of life-trees, moss, plants, skinks, owls-great place to take a walk on the trails they have if you have some down time or just enjoy the view from the balcony or hot tub! The cabin and property are beautiful and they are making even more improvements. Was an easy and beautiful drive to the Cherohala Skyway which was the reason for the trip. The hot tub was very relaxing and clean. And the provided firewood for the fire pits was much appreciated.

Amazing vacation!

I definitely think that the place was better than the pictures, the only thing I had to complain about was the toilet and the shower would make a loud high pitched noise for a little bit. Besides that the cabin was very cozy and relaxing!
