The hotel’s pool and ocean view were great, but the nearby restaurants were awful. The pool was relaxing and the ocean view made the stay feel special. Unfortunately, the local restaurants were consistently disappointing, so be ready to look elsewhere for good food.

Hey all - this is a fantastic place to stay in the heart of punta mita. Great location near all the restaurants. The rooftop restaurant and pool are amazing. This place is the perfect blend of having a relaxing hotel to stay at while also being able to experience the authenticity of Mexico/punta mita. Highly recommend!

This is a very well located property with beautiful ocean views and close proximity to a half a dozen fantastic restaurants and the beach. Rooftop pool is great for sunsets. As some have noted, there are some shabbier local buildings nearby, but for me I take that as a taste of Mexico, and I love the fact that there is an authentic Pueblo steps away. Make sure to try some street tacos and churros in the town. Note that if you come back after 11 PM, the doors may be locked and the security guard may be sleeping, which caused me some drama one night.

We had such a wonderful stay at Ancora Hotel in Punta Mita. Our place had two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and although we didn’t end up using the second bedroom, having the additional bathroom was incredibly convenient. The space was bright, spacious, and very comfortable. The primary bedroom was especially roomy, and both the bed and the living room couch were perfect for relaxing after a day out. The highlight, though, was the incredible ocean view from both the bedroom and living room. Waking up to it each morning and coming back to it at the end of the day never got old. Ancora was a beautiful and relaxing place to stay, and we truly enjoyed our time there. The staff in the front is super friendly and helpful!

Our only complaint was the noise. Two out of the four nights we were there we were woken up by very loud music in the area of the hotel. On one occasion it went on until 2:30 AM and on the other until 3:30 AM. It was not the fault of the hotel and not something that they could control, None the less, it significantly detracted from the overall experience. Vacation isn't as much fun if you are overly tired.

The Ancora is still adding finishing touches to the property as it is a new hotel. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The Ancora is also close to restaurants and public beach. Some of the people in my group enjoyed the surfing near by.

Great stay at Ancora!

We really enjoyed staying at this property! We were greeted by the friendly, Carlos, who helped us before and during our stay with a restaurant reservation, suggestions and new towels. The location relative to Punta de Mita was great: water view with easy walking access to all restaurants and activities but not in the center of it all, so it was quiet at night. There were 2 full bathrooms and the king bed was of memory foam and very comfortable. I'd highly recommend staying here!

The rooftop patio and pool was relaxing and wonderful for watching the sunrise, sunset and view of the entire bay. At low tide, the beach to the left was sandy and walkable for at least an hour or two out and back. Excursions to the the Marietta’s Islands departed from the moorings right out front.

This was our first visit to Punta de Mita. We are so happy we chose Ancora, it was perfect! The space was fabulous, we loved our deck & the rooftop infinity pool & view from the amazing restaurant! It was fabulous! Clean comfortable pool Was awesome! Front desk lovely! Just need a clothing rack to hand clothes to dry! And there was a bad ant problem.
