Upon check-in, I encountered some challenges due to my hearing difficulties and the desk clerk’s accent, but he was incredibly polite and patient. However, I was disappointed to discover the hotel’s strict wristband policy. As someone who enjoys having friends visit, I found it frustrating that guests were not allowed to enter my room without a wristband. This policy felt overly restrictive, especially considering that the hotel is not fully all-inclusive. The first room I had was horrible. I tried to make it work for two nights. I did not sleep either night. On day three I went to the desk at 6am and begged them to move my room. When I did what they said (pack my stuff, get out at 11, return at 3, and they would issue a new room) I was then told that it was not possible. The poor desk clerk - I know he was not trying to be difficult but after two nights of no sleep (NOTE TO HOTEL: change the damn batteries in the smoke detector in the lobby/atrium once and for all- it beeps all night long!) and having been told at 6am what would happen (she promised me) - I know I was short and snarky. He eventually called his manager and they put me in another room. The new room has a newer mattress, and at least I did not feel like I was laying on a coroner slab - not kidding- felt like I was laying on cement or maybe a box spring and not a mattress (it wasn’t just a box spring- I did check). I want to emphasize that the staff were the highlight of my stay.

Room was okay. It needs some updating but it was fine for what we wanted. Good location. Staff was friendly. Only issue we had was that we were charged extra because I accidentally booked for one adult and there were two of us.

Staff were amazing, thanks Marisol and Alejandro and concierge. Booked VIP and received free breakfast and upgraded balcony room. Very clean, quiet and safe. Loved use of loungers ocean front. Restaurant was exc lent and staff there wonderful at the Playa Los Arcos. Thanks Expedia.ca for a great stay and great flights on WestJet.

Staff was amazing. The location was great, and the rooftop pool was lovely. The access to the beach and sister hotel was great, and the food for the all-inclusive was very good. There were a couple of negative items. Our room had obvious moisture/mold issues which could be smelled and seen immediately upon entering the room. Also, there was no coffee available in the rooms or on site. The only coffee available at the all-inclusive restaurant was extremely hot and burnt and awful. There were espresso machines at the bar, but after asking many times it was clear tgat the staff did not know how to use them and espresso based coffees were unavailable.

This hotel is a SCAM. The rooms smelled TERRIBLE, the bathrooms were DIRTY, and there was black mold on the walls and AC vents. We had to change rooms three times, and none looked like the photos online. To make things worse, our towel keys were STOLEN from our room on the last day, and the hotel still charged us $15 each — the same thing happened to our friends staying there too. Very suspicious. AVOID this place.

This was the 3rd time my brother and our spouses visited in the last 11 months .The people and the culture keep us coming back. The staff are great, Louis and Joel were great help at the front desk. Diana and Raquel took good care of us on the roof top pool. Our best friends that feel like brothers working at the lounge, Victor, Alexandre, Angel, and Riccardo, we miss you as soon as we leave. Gracias Martha for the free room upgrade, we loved the balcony room. We will definitely be back next year.

The standard room door had no weather stripping around the door, which allowed insects to freely come into the room (wide gaps existed around most of the door). While the authenticity of the resort was appreciated, some of the rooms were in dire need of renovation (3 other guests were in my party and we each had separate rooms). A friend's shower flooded, leaving water in his entire room. Fixtures in my bathroom were broken (i.e., knob to open window) and I was unable to open to the bathroom window to let steam out. A friend's room had stains on the wall and bedding. The all-inclusive package is not worth the additional money. The variety in food was poor and you simply could not enjoy the dining experience due to birds defecating on the seats and table, while also attempting to eat your food. The panhandlers were excessive during every dining experience. The resort brought a hawk to deter the birds, but this was not done consistently. You'd be better off patronizing the local restaurants, which had great food. Also, guests should be aware that you are not allowed to have any visitors, which should be upfront. Friends visiting for the holiday at other resorts could not visit my friends and me. As a seasoned traveler, I do not think the experience warrants the money. My friends and I took this vacation to relax and had to deal with too many stressful issues (room issues, dining issues, panhandlers). The staff were pleasant overall, but I would never revisit this resort.
