Royal Isabela is a nice relaxing resort. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay a great experience. The special turn down service with nightly special baked goods was appreciated. We enjoyed the grounds and the tour at sunset provided a great opportunity to take photos. The 171 steps to the private beach was a hike. The path was safe and the beach was breathtaking.

Everyone we interacted with was friendly and courteous. Even the "nature view" casitas can still see the ocean, and we loved having our own private pool, although the hotel pool is beautiful, too. The adventure experiences with Jorge were highlights of the trip—we did an ebike tour and learned how to eFoil on the river, neither of which we'd ever done before. The food at the restaurants was fresh and delicious, even though the service was pretty slow. I highly recommend the quick hike down to the beach, where you can crack open a coconut with a rock and drink the water while watching the waves crash along the rocks.
