Puerto Rico lies between the US and British Virgin Islands and the Dominican Republic. It lines the eastern side of the Caribbean Sea and accesses the Atlantic Ocean. Getting Around
When visitors fly to Puerto Rico, they'll arrive in Luis Munoz Marin International Airport (SJU) on the northeastern side of the island. From there, a variety of freeways and roads span throughout the island, such as 17 heading south and 26 running east and west. The main throughway for getting from one side of the island to another is Highway 52, or Autopista Luis A Ferre. It spans from SJU and reaches the south side of the island passing Bosque Estatal de Cante. Travel from the airport to the furthest location in Puerto Rico, Cabo Rojo on the western tip, is approximately two-and-a-half hours in a rental car.
