Very bad service, difficult and expensive to reach
This hotel has made a great effort to reinvent colonial grandeur but lacks all basic services, hot water didn't work for most of the stay and the local staff was incredibly rude and couldn't even be bothered to do try provide some of the most basic service concepts. The place is WAY far from any other location and it's near impossible to get taxis unless you use the hotel's own service that charge tripple of the local rates so it very quickly becomes massively expensive staying here and not worth the price you pay.

Beautiful place but lacks service
The place is beautiful but very difficult to find and there is little guidance from the hotel as to how to get there, only a single sign on the road which is RIGHT in a curve and easy to miss. The staff is not very well educated and lacks multiple basic skills for basic hotel management.
The staff is friendly however the property needs major upgrades for the basics; hot water, towels, drawers and restaurant service.
No hot water!! There is an electric motor over the shower that we were told would give hot water but all we got was luke warm water and for only 2-3 minutes. That alone is a no no. But then we needed more towels and we were told they ran out of clean towels because they were used at the pool. Our first morning we went to the restaurant and waited over 20 minutes while a larger party that arrived after us was being serviced, mind you the place was almost empty. They just decided to ignore us two... we walked out. The rooms have no drawers, just vintage tables. So we checked out 4 days early and booked another hotel. It was worth loosing money so not to stay here again.
The hotel is very charming. Enjoyed the atmosphere. The employees were attentive and nice. We met the owner while in the dining room. The food in the dining room was very good.

Beautiful setting
Very peaceful setting. Prices are fine, but due to the distance from downtown should try and stay affordable after the renovation.
Very interesting and rustic hotel. It literally was an old "hacienda" in another era and we found ourselves wondering about the history behind this place. The rooms were spacious and clean. We had no issues with the bathrooms, and one room even had a little sitting room.
Great hotel if you want to find a place that has lots of character. The hotel is a beautiful old hacienda complete with tunnels, old Mexico feel, rustico furniture, and lots of space. You will love how secluded you feel from the city even though you are still in the city. My favorite hotel in Puebla.
Photos published @Expedia site differ a lot from reality.
No one from Hotel Staff welcome me at entrance. No Hotel Staff help to carry bags to reception and no help provided to carry them to room. At end of stay, I carried bags from room to car.
Room = old/not comfortable. Rug was old, furniture old as well and no comfortable at all, bed was terrible and ended up with back pain. TV room old as well and terrible Cable reception.
Bathroom was ok, at least it was clean.
The hotel is a neat place to stay for an experience. The hotel itself is beautiful and full of history. However, it is quite dated. We were on the first floor and the carpets were stained and there was a musty odor through the hallway. The room had very low ceilings and was not very quiet. We could easily hear anyone who was talking or walking in the hallway, as well as any street noise from the window.

Awesome breakfast, horrible comfort
Staff was amazing. But the bed, pillow situation is probably the worst i have had in the past 5 years. Breakfast was awesome- free buffet with outstanding food. Google maps locates the hotel incorrectly, it was hard finding it.
Restaurant service very slow with only two tables to handle, portions very very small. Front desk attendant very good. says rooms should have wifi but only could get 2 bars, room door had 2 large gaps that you could see into our room from the hallway. Hotel is very hard to find even with gps
Hacienda del Molino is part of an old hacienda, it is more than 100 years old. The decor and construction still harkens back to a different time when life wasn't so rushed. The rooms are large and comfortable although wifi is available the signal is not strong throughout the hotel. The grounds and the buildings however transport you to another time.
