The Little Tower - Local Vintage Shops & Eateries
Summary:
My apartment building is in the vibrant heart of the eclectic Hawthorne District, walking distance to Portland's best restaurants, cafes, bookstores, brew-pubs, distilleries, and artisanal shops. All necessary services, from banks to massage therapists, are nearby. Only a mile from downtown, you can easily access the city via bike, walking, or frequent bus service. The interiors feature a sleek, soothing European design with high grade surfaces and finishes for your comfort and style.
The Space:
– Ideally located between the vibrant Hawthorne commercial sector and historic Ladd's Addition, known for its 120 years of architectural masterpieces.
– Meticulously designed for a sleek, stylish, and soothing atmosphere.
– High-grade finishes include mini-split heating and cooling, stainless steel appliances, and 9-foot ceilings.
– Large windows flood the rooms with natural light, creating an airy and inviting space.
– Features gorgeous cabinetry, a giant 4K HDTV, high-speed WiFi, and other modern amenities for ultimate comfort and luxury.
Thank you for considering our home, we hope to welcome you soon!
Guest Access:
You will have complete private access to my 1-bedroom apartment. There are three separate structures in my complex and one other unit in my building.
The Neighborhood:
Commonly known as “Foodie Row,” the Hawthorne/Buckman District puts you within walking distance of a wide variety of top-notch local flavors, with no chain restaurants in sight! Make new friends over vegan poutine fries and grilled PB&Js at the Cartopia food cart pod, get messy with wings right around the corner at Fire on the Mountain, share a pie at Apizza Scholls (consistently voted Portland’s favorite pizza), or opt for a fancy night out at Castagna—all within a 1.5-mile stretch.
Portland isn't just for foodies; the vibrant indie spirit of Hawthorne is alive with plenty of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques to explore. Catch a movie at the Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. If bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of recreation, head up to Mt. Tabor, a 196-acre city park atop a dormant volcano vent, where you’ll find miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city.
Getting Around:
This prime location offers a variety of convenient transportation options to help you explore the city with ease. The neighborhood is highly walkable, with a walk score of 88, and you’ll find a wide range of dining, shopping, and entertainment options just a short stroll away. Enjoy a leisurely walk to nearby cafes, restaurants, boutique shops, and parks that capture the unique charm of Portland. The city is renowned for its bike-friendly infrastructure, featuring numerous bike lanes and the BIKETOWN bike share program, with bike racks nearby for secure parking, making it easy to explore on two wheels.
TriMet, Portland’s public transit system, is an excellent way to get around. The #14 bus line runs along SE Hawthorne Blvd, just a short walk from the apartment, providing convenient access to downtown Portland and other key areas. Additionally, the nearby Portland Streetcar offers another efficient option for reaching different parts of the city. Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft are readily available in the area, offering a convenient way to travel further afield or when you’re in a hurry. Traditional taxis can also be hailed or scheduled in advance.
If you have a car, on-street parking is available, though it may be limited during peak hours. Be sure to check the parking signs for any restrictions. For longer stays or guaranteed spots, there are nearby parking garages and lots that offer hourly or daily rates. Portland also has several car-sharing services, such as Zipcar and Getaround, providing the flexibility of a rental car without the need for traditional rental agencies. With these transportation options, you'll find it easy to navigate Portland and enjoy all the city has to offer. Enjoy your stay and happy exploring!
Other Things to Note:
There is not a washer and dryer in the unit, but you'll have access to basement laundry facilities within the complex.
