Room was clean and all we needed. New Year’s morning 9:20am Jan 1 2026, no coffee or cups or staff to be found, had to snoop through cupboards to find paper cup, The breakfast we had been looking forward too was already cleared away even though trays were still full of food minutes earlier… such a waste. Other guests looking for food and coffee also disappointed that there was nothing left. Had to leave to get other food. No where to get breakfast food except McDonald’s and Tim Hortons other restaurants closed New Year’s Day in Portage La Prairie. Missed opportunity for this hotel to provide a much needed service that day. New years eve event we attended was fun it went till 2:00am got to bed around 4:00am and very disappointed that there was not even a cup of coffee left with breakfast. One male was sitting at front desk, cleaning dishes in kitchen and checking out guests that morning.

Great staff!!!!! Clayton was phenomenal in arranging an early check-in and the next day he asked me how my event was the day we arrived. Then I saw him in the kitchen, cleaning up the dishes, and I thought that this fellow was really engaged and wanted to do his job well… And did.

I would like to share with you that me and my wife spent a few nights at the hotel. We come to Portage to work occasionally and need a place to stay. This is the 1st time we stayed at the hotel and we stayed 3 separate times. The last time we were to stay my wife was ill and could not go to her job and needed to check out early. Staff went out of their way to ensure my wife was cared for and only charged her for the night that she used at the hotel. Staff were so accommodating and went out of their way to ensure our stay was great. I have recommended this hotel to all that are looking for a place to stay. I will be back and please keep up the great work it is truly a joy to have a clean, friendly, and safe hotel to stay at when away for work. Thank you Jim McLaughlin

Breakfast was amazing fresh hot food and a great variety!! The staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was very comfortable and clean. I absolutely love the artwork and had to buy a couple of prints. The pool and hot tub were very nice. Only thing I can say is it would have been nice if the hot tub was deeper but alas I am spoiled at home with a spa. Lol Overall I would have to say that this hotel is one of the nicest I have ever stayed at in Manitoba.
