This was one of or the best tropical vacation I have been on and I’ve been on a few. This hotel is gorgeous and the staff was so very very friendly!! You can’t go wrong with this place it really is paradise!!

The staff did not allow, although we had reservation proof from Expedia and proof of payment, check in my fiancé and step son. After an hour of arguing, as it was almost midnight, my fiancé gave in to them. The front desk demanded they keep the passports over night, not a credit card but their physical passports, until they saw the reservation appear on their side. Stay away from this shady hotel. Do not send your wife or children to this hotel, its not safe. They left the next morning where the sitting manager said she did not understand why the night shift did not see the reservation. My fiance was so upset, she took the passports and left the property. They refused to give any refund, but Expedia gave us back our money and are investigating this hotel. Stay away, for your own safety. I traveled all over the world and in NO country do they take your passports hostage, they take a CREDIT CARD at best. They did not accept her receipt from Expedia, the emails we got from them. They are just despicable people.

Overall we had a good stay. The hotel holds itself out as 5 star but it’s really a 4-4.5 star hotel. Pros -Lots pool options -Friendly helpful staff -Different food options -Activities for kids -Shuttle around property -Monkeys, coatis -Water park (note adults cannot go on water park and kids over 8 will likely get bored of it quickly as mine did) -Big spacious rooms nice showers -Beach area was great (ocean is rocky go to left side of the beach to have less rocks) -swim up bar service was great -hammocks everywhere my kids loved them -fire show, piñata night -shout out to Lisandro, I did have a complaint he had things fixed quick Cons -Waiting to get into reserved restaurants, takes at least 15 sometimes 30 minutes to get you seated - booking restaurants with other groups cannot be done. each room has to book seperate -Food was good (adequate) not great -buffet was chaotic and not organized very well, again need to be patient and often they run out of food and are slow to replace -Service staff were very friendly but man was it slow service. You are lucky to get more than one drink for dinner. So just be aware and be prepared to be waiting a lot -if you have an early excursion the hot breakfast is not available until 8:00am so you have to rely on the continental breakfast which is a joke, basically a couple pasties and some fruit. No cereal or yogurt. - room service options are limited, would have been nice to have a breakfast option for room service

Food and service was poor at most resturaunts. They would allow the food to sit in the window for long periods of time and so when you got it everything was cold. staff was generally pretty nice, but their were a few that did not seem very welcoming. Property was clean and spread out for the amount of people that it could accomodate.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel — it was better than we expected. The staff was always very attentive and helpful, always greeting us with smiles and kindness; truly very professional. The facilities were very clean, and the room service was excellent. We would definitely come back. Just one remark: on our last day, I believe there was maintenance being done in the room next door, and because of that, a smell of paint or thinner was coming through the ventilation, which caused throat irritation for my wife. My suggestion is to avoid assigning guests to rooms that are close to those undergoing construction or maintenance.

This was our first time ever in Mexico and going to an all inclusive resort. Immediately upon arrival we felt so well taken care of. We arrived very early in the day and were able to eat, drink and explore before checking into our room. Our room absolutely shocked us - much more impressive than expected. We felt like we were in a dream! Every single staff member was so friendly, always smiling and greeting us. It made us feel so happy. A very special shout out to Edgardo at the beach bar. We felt like we were seeing our friend every day. We loved chatting with him and the drinks he was making us - WOW! By far our favourite place to hang out. Luis at the Margarita restaurant is such a special person. He treated us so well and made us feel like family. Thank you Luis. We miss you already! Our favourite places to eat were Margarita for dinner, Route 66 for late night snacks (burrito is incredible), Amaranto (best buffet ever - we ate something from the taco corner every breakfast!) and every time we went we were impressed with the different options. The housekeeping staff always made our room feel fresh every day, and even left us chocolates on the last night. Our room was always stocked with water bottles and other drinks which was perfect. Such a bonus that 7/11 and the pharmacy is only about a 10 minute walk out of the resort if you need anything there also. Overall we felt like we were in paradise every day. We will be back! Thank you! ❤️

Place was great. Our butler Efrain was amazing and yook csre of everything. Food was solid. Drinks were flowing. Resort was very walkable. I suggest making sure you get the privelage package. Makes the whole experience much better. If you are older be careful like any other resort it can be sluppery.

For the price, I really can’t complain. Rooms were a good size. Comfy beds. Ya some stuff looked a little rough but I’m not expecting perfection. Pools were great other than the rough texture. Was a little dangerous. They were a great size, clean and never crowded. Lack of beach is made up for with the beach pool. If you want more beach, just walk 5 min to the left and sit in front of princess haha. Buffet was decent, repetitive but plenty good for us. We never left hungry. Restaurants weren’t the best. Sakura was a good time, definitely a must. Route 66 and Mexican weren’t the best but we didn’t try the entire menu so can’t properly judge. Pez vela was great, and the crepes were yummy at the crepe shop. Coffee shop was a huge perk for me. Never waited long and it was such a nice place with the coffee and treats. Felt like going into a Starbucks and leaving without paying. Overall this is a great place, especially for kids. The wildlife around the resort was so fun. My daughter held so many animals this week. We loved just watching the monkeys with their baby and the coaties were super entertaining. Don’t leave your main floor patio doors open, they will come in lol.

We had an amazing time at Ocean Riviera Paradise! The resort is beautiful, very clean, and the staff are all so friendly. Special thanks to Victor from the cleaning team — he did an excellent job and was always so kind. Great food, nice beach, and a fun, relaxing vibe. We’d definitely come back!
