Overall, an excellent location for access to Universal Studios. The hotel was accommodating for our two families, allowing us to have a shared internal door that made a world of difference. The breakfast was great. Communications about how to access the shuttle would have been nice and lead to us walking to Universal. We unfortunately found some ants in our room, and the shower dripped incessantly, and at one point we couldn't turn it on. It was repaired to where we could turn it on and off, but it continued to drip despite the repair.

We stayed 4 nights. First two nights great - 3rd night someone checked in with a dog. 4th night they left the dog in the room and left for hours. I called the front desk about the barking dog on the other side of the connecting doors inside our room. Front desk asked if this was my first complaint- I said yes. She said she would call them. After 25 minutes long and still lots of barking, I again inquired of the front desk and she said they didn't pick up - either the room phone or the cell phone. She said she walked by and didn't hear anything. I challenged that everytime someone walked by the dog barked and anytime we made noise in our room the dog barked. She also indicated hotel policy is they have to have 3 separate complaints -one from either side of the room and another from the one across. In this case it was only 9:00pm at this time on a Friday night and we were catching a super early flight the next morning. So we were the only ones in the hotel - everyone else was out still probably at Universal Horror nights or something. I asked if it was breaking hotel policy to have a dog left in the room while the owners were out. She didn't answer that question but said there was nothing she could do about the situation. She said if I would have said something the day before she could have moved us, but they were fully booked that night. Apparently it was our fault the dog started barking only kept us awake for 1 night. 2 nights, they could have done something. lame.

The hotel grounds are really nice and the area is safe, conveniently located. The check in process was a breeze and the front desk staff was helpful and professional. The only thing I disliked was the odor permeating from the old carpeting. I think hard flooring such as tile or other options are a must for hygiene reasons. The room was clean but the smell from that carpeting was not pleasant at all. Very obvious.
