"We’ve been coming to salt spring for about 10 years or more. While the resort is not as nice as it used to be, at no fault of the hosts, our stay at his cottage was the best experience we’ve had. He made we had everything we needed and more and took pride in making our stay enjoyable despite the weather and resort issues not related to his cottage. The view and location from the cottage is the best there is here and everything is very clean and more updated than others we’ve stayed in. My sister stayed in a different cottage owned by another host that had lots of issues, and our host had an available cottage that he graciously offered for them to switch to. Old school customer service at its finest. The resort is now split owned and it’s not been a good thing for the rental owners and residents who live there. (Lack of upkeep in the game room, pool, playground, and area near the lake) all still useable, just not as nice as it was and could be. Hoping for their sake that it can be resolved so that it can return to the great place I know it was. We brought our boat, so we still enjoyed our time on the lake and fishing. Overall we still enjoyed our week there and will only book with Cris again. Thank you for your true hospitality."

"Jon & Jamie here!!! This amazing place nestled in the middle of the forest was everything as described and then some! A truly beautiful home away from home! Diane & her husband were remarkable host! They were very attentive to detail in making your stay feel warm and welcoming! They communicated with us throughout our stay! You literally just have to bring your clothes & food! Everything you could think of is there and more! During our stay we seen alot of wildlife and even went and rented UTV at the Atv Adventures down the road! Bring your boat because there is plenty of places to fish! Or bring your ATVs the trails are so much fun and plenty of them!"

"Pros: 1. The house has two floors which allowed my family to "spread out" and have adequate space to relax and sleep. 2. The lift was amazing for my elderly parents. 3. The view from the 2nd story balcony was very relaxing. 4. The neighbors on both sides greeted us and were very friendly. 5, The dock is super nice and has a great setup for fishing. (Having the sink came in so handy.) The fish did not cooperate with us but it happens that way sometimes. 6. We caught about 15 blue crabs right off the dock with the supplied cages. 7. There were plenty of quality towels available and the home was very clean. 8. There was fans, lawn chairs, and about anything you would need. 9. I had no need to contact the property owner and they did not contact me. For some that might be a negative but I like this. I am sure if I reached out I would have gotten a response but I appreciated them allowing me to focus on my vacation and family versus calls or emails to respond to. 10. There was an adjustable bed downstairs that was super comfy. Cons: 1. This is a remote community so if you want to spend time shopping or going out to eat, this might not be ideal for you. There is a small seafood restaurant down the road which was very good. There is a Dollar General not far away but anything else is 30 minutes or more away. Overall this place was great to relax and enjoy family. Well maintained and I would rent again."
