Palisades Tahoe River Retreat

Summary:

Escape to our 3BR/2.5BA chalet condo in Olympic Valley. Perfect for year-round adventures, this retreat comfortably fits families or groups. Enjoy a modern kitchen, private balcony, and a luxurious private sauna. You'll also have access to a community pool, hot tub, and tennis court (seasonal). Your ideal mountain getaway awaits!

The Space:

Welcome to your perfect mountain retreat in Olympic Valley! This 3-bedroom, 2.5-bath chalet-style condo is an ideal home base for ski trips and year-round adventure.

The bright, open living space features a fully equipped modern kitchen and a cozy gas fireplace in the living room—perfect for relaxing after a day on the slopes. Step onto your private balcony to take in peaceful forest views.

The spacious primary suite offers vaulted ceilings and beautiful natural light, while your private sauna provides a luxurious way to unwind and recharge. We’re also pet friendly, so your four-legged family members are welcome to join the adventure.

Guests enjoy seasonal access (via HOA badge) to the outdoor pool, hot tub, dry sauna, tennis courts, and pickleball courts. Managed by Granite Peak Management at the base of Palisades Tahoe.

Winter Notes: Olympic Valley sees significant snowfall. The HOA plows main driveways, but parking spots may require shoveling. Common-area parking is first-come, first-served and often easiest during storms. We provide shovels and ice melt to help you navigate winter like a local.

Unit 17 blends comfort, location, and amenities—just minutes from Palisades Tahoe, the Truckee River, scenic trails, and year-round mountain recreation.

Guest Access:

As our guest, you will have private access to the entire 3-bedroom condo including private cedar sauna on first floor.

You will also have access to fantastic shared community amenities to enhance your stay. These include:

*A refreshing swimming pool

*A relaxing hot tub

*A community tennis court

Please note that the shared pool and hot tub are available seasonally. We recommend confirming their operational status for your specific travel dates.

The Neighborhood:

The Tavern Inn Condominiums sit in one of Olympic Valley’s most coveted locations—close enough to enjoy the energy of Palisades Tahoe, yet tucked into a quieter corner that feels peaceful and residential. Guests love staying here for the rare mix of convenience, natural beauty, and easy access to year-round recreation.

In winter, you’re just minutes from the lifts at Palisades Tahoe, with nearby trails for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Après-ski dining and drinks are close by, and Tahoe City’s winter activities, including ice skating and sledding, are only a short drive away.

When the snow melts, the valley becomes a summer playground. Miles of hiking and mountain biking trails begin right from the area, and the Truckee River—ideal for rafting and scenic walks—is moments away. Guests also enjoy seasonal access to the complex’s pool, hot tub, tennis courts, and pickleball courts, offering a comfortable place to unwind between adventures.

With quick access to Tahoe City’s dining, shops, and lakefront beaches, the Tavern Inn neighborhood delivers a balanced experience: quiet, convenient, and central to everything that makes Lake Tahoe special all year long.

Getting Around:

Getting to Palisades & Alpine (No Car Needed)

Staying at Tavern Inn Condominiums places you in one of the most convenient locations in Olympic Valley — especially during ski season.

The nearest TART (Tahoe Area Regional Transit) stop is just a short walk from the Tavern Inn complex (approximately 3–5 minutes on foot).

The ride to Palisades Tahoe (formerly Squaw Valley) takes only a few minutes.

From Palisades, you can connect directly to Alpine Meadows using the resort’s free inter-base shuttle.

In most cases, you can be at the lifts faster by shuttle than by driving and parking.

Free Palisades Tahoe Shuttles

Palisades Tahoe operates a free mountain shuttle that runs regularly between:

Palisades Base Area

Alpine Meadows Base Area

This makes it easy to ski both mountains in one day without moving your car.

TART Public Transit (Free Service)

TART provides free, year-round transit throughout North Lake Tahoe, including service between:

Olympic Valley

Tahoe City

Kings Beach

Truckee (seasonal connections)

During winter, TART is one of the most reliable ways to move around the area safely.

Olympic Valley receives some of the heaviest snowfall in the Sierra. Roads can be icy, parking is limited, and resort lots often fill early.

Our Recommendation

For the smoothest winter experience, plan to use TART and the free Palisades Tahoe shuttles. They’re close, convenient, and designed to make getting to the slopes effortless.

Other Things to Note:

This condo offers a true Sierra mountain experience — especially in winter. Olympic Valley receives significant snowfall, and guests should be prepared for active winter conditions.

*Winter Awareness*

The HOA plows the main driveway only.

Individual parking spaces and walkways are not cleared.

Guests should expect to shovel around their vehicle and create a path to the condo during storms.

To make this easier, we provide:

*Snow shovels

*Snowmelt

*Ice picks

All are located in the ski closet near the front door.

Unit 17 has one has dedicated spot and there are other community area spot for a second vehicle to park.We have a security camera at the front door for 24/7 monitoring year round.

Seasonal Amenities: Please be aware that the community pool and hot tub are seasonal. Their availability is not guaranteed during your stay, especially in the off-season.

Great condo in Tahoe

Overall a nice place to stay for a weekend in Tahoe! Good location, and easy communication with host. Some things were broken in the house but still fine to stay there!

Nice but needs some repair

Convenient location and comfortable beds were offset some by repairs needed to lights and windows. The worst was the broken blinds upstairs which made the room quite bright early in the morning, waking me. All in all we had a very nice time.

Great Condo for Ski Trip

Very convenient location for getting to and from the mountain. There was plenty of room for our whole group, and everything was clean and in good condition. Sauna was a plus too! Would definitely stay here again.
