Other guest were outside our room making incredible noise. Someone throw an air controller from their room and it landed on our porch. Nothing was done about it. Also there was a payment issue saying our room was paid then it became our fault.

A really great property. Staff was nice, I loved the great condition of this classic beach hotel. Felt more like a home. Which is definitely a good thing. Excellent location as well. I will definitely be back!

So dissatisfied and disappointed. Someone else was parked in our assigned parking spot upon check-in. The room we booked was falsely advertised online, room very outdated, walls white and absolutely no pictures. We were also to have two double beds, ended up being a twin bed and a double bed. The room literally made us feel so uneasy and very uncomfortable and was no way we could have stayed 5 nights, let alone 1. Way over priced. Requested a refund, was told that night that a note would be left for the manager. The manager called the following day and told me they would call me back in 1/2hr and never called me back at all; very disappointing and unprofessional. Luckily we were able to get a 2 bedroom, newly renovated condo last minute.

Perfect ladies weekend!!

Yes, the parking lot is small. Yes, the place isn’t a 5star resort. Yes, it could use a facelift. It was perfect for a ladies weekend with clean sheets, hot water, a beautiful ocean view, on the boardwalk. Walking distance to absolutely anything you need. We had to walk up a flight of stairs with no elevator and we loved every minute of it.

Our room was very nice & actually more than I expected as I guess I didn't read the fine print indicating that it was an apt which was a little more than we really needed. As a senior, I wasn't expecting there not to be an elevator (shame on me for not asking I guess) as climbing three sets of stairs with our luggage, etc from the parking lot to our room was a little much for someone of my age. I knew from experience at our usual place that we stay at, getting a spot in the parking lot can be a crap shoot. Our usual place used to have a lot offsite that we could park at if their lot was full (they apparently don't have it any longer so we found out this past Aug as we were told we would have to park on the street if their lot was full). As a result, I inquired about what if we can't get a spot in the Lankford's parking lot. I was told that there would be someone there that would help us out (?). Not sure what that meant, so rather than go to the movies because it was raining terribly the first night of our stay, we stayed in rather than take a chance on losing our parking space in their lot. Also, if you're going to have a laundry room, the front desk should probably have quarters on hand as we did walk in the rain to the Doughroller for dinner before we called it a night. As a result, our clothes were soaked & I wanted to put them in their dryer. Unfortunately, they had no quarters to give us, so we had to make a trip up Coastal Hwy to a local laundrymat instead.

The carpet needs deep-cleaning in my room; i go barefoot most of the time, and the carpet turned my feet black. Housekeeping very nice, very accommodating. Love the 3rd floor porch!!

The room was very small, the shower was very small. Both not a huge deal for us it was just my wife and I. We specifically booked an ocean front room on the boardwalk. I called and spoke to a woman to verify that the ocean front rooms had their own balcony because that was the only thing we really required when booking an ocean front room. The woman assured me that every ocean front room at this hotel had it's own private balcony. That was a blatant lie. When I checked in I asked the woman at the front desk of our room had a balcony, she said no they don't just a window. We would've never booked this room had we known for sure that it did not have a private balcony. They outright lied to us. Also, our room was directly above the breakfast cafe below and every morning our room filled with the smell of burnt toast/bagels. Not a pleasant breakfast smell.

Great little getaway

We booked a last minute room here and had a wonderful visit to Ocean City. The Lankford is in a great location, with a great ocean view from the rocking chair communal porch, and from our room window. The room is a little small, but plenty of room for sleeping. There is also a fridge (but no coffee maker or microwave) The coffee shop downstairs had a delicious bagel sandwich that we purchased for breakfast. Brian at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.

Old Hotel In A Great Location

Check in was great; we arrived early and the kind lady at reception informed us our room was ready. Parking is convenient and free. The hotel and room are very old. The door to the room is an interior household door, not a standard hotel room door. A simple push button handle lock is the only lock. This is only one example of how outdated everything is, minus the brand new refrigerator. We stayed in the Sandpiper room and it had two bedrooms, a small bathroom, a decent kitchen, and a small living and dining area. The balcony was great, with a lounge chair and a picnic table. But again, everything minus the refrigerator is very old. I suspect because the hotel is seasonal, it doesn't have the capital to do any renovations or upgrades. It simply fixes what is broken. From our experience in OC, many hotels are like this. Location is terrific, right on the boardwalk. You can't beat the location. The hotel has a "quaint" feeling, which is nice. And it was clean. I'd stay here again depending on how prices compared to other hotels in the immediate area.

We had a smoke alarm in our room that went off every five minutes. It took hotel maintenance over 30 minutes to come “fix it” he just ripped it off the wall and left. Old, outdated, but beachfront and on the boardwalk
