Hot water took quite a while to arrive into the shower. Shelving in the bathroom area would be helpful as there is no place to put toiletries. Would love to have a little coffee maker in the room. Also would be nice to have a small desk and a chair

So I’m just going to stick to facts and let you decide. We booked here as a place to stay after the UF homecoming game. We booked a king room, paid for a king, and I guess due to our late arrival had a queen room. It was a bed and we were grateful for a bed. It’s a charming, OLD motel, that they are lovingly renovating. Unfortunately you cannot change the walls, so you do literally hear everyone’s conversation in the sweet sitting area across the parking lot, as well as the neighbors in their rooms. I’m sure our neighbors heard our TV until midnight. You will hear the road noise all night. Literally all night. Trucks, cars, music in those cars. But that IS NOT the fault of the owners, just a sad by product of the location. The AC was extremely cold and quiet. If you need a dark room to sleep, bring a sleep mask. The bed was firm but not uncomfortably firm. We had a very thick/firm pillow and a flat softer pillow in the sham. It worked for me to put the pillow case over the sham to sleep, then I just put it back before we left. They WERE better than the flat feather pillows you get at some chain hotels, so that was appreciated that they tried to cater to everyone. Having coffee IN THE ROOM would have definitely helped, but Dunkin was a few miles down the road. We didn’t get to meet the owners but from reviews, they seem to pride themselves in their inn. I don’t want throw shade, but this is not 5 stars. Or 4. Per reviews, we expected better.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this small Inn as it was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the small refrigerator w/freezer and microwave was appreciated plus there was a nice outside sitting area for my husband to enjoy his nightly cigar. Our car was parked outside the room which we prefer .... easy access to get what we need. All in all, we were very delighted with our stay. PS We found a wonderful restaurant across the street in a small mall ... food was delicious.

I was very excited for this stay however, It was very difficult to contact anyone before during or after the stay. The motel is quaint and I enjoyed the room itself, however there were several issues that made made me uncomfortable. First, I couldn't contact anyone about check in process but when I called back at the last minute they texted me a code for access. Next, there appeared to be people living there and smoking outside my door and there was no one on property to monitor unsafe situations. In the room, the water in the bathroom sink was hot only, no cold, so I couldn't use it and there was no one to contact. Last, when I went to check out and advise the property of the issues for future guests, there was an open sign on, door locked, and no one to be found. The property is quaint and has potential however safety issues, no security or staff on property, and the busy road it's located on makes it a less desirable stop in Ocala.

Great location and place to stay!

Great location only couple blocks away from downtown Ocala. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I loved the decor in the room and had a great microwave and good sized cold refrigerator! The hotel has been there quite a while but they have done a very good job of remodeling and keeping the rooms very clean. Only a couple suggestions would be to provide hair conditioner, they do provide shampoo and in my room there was nowhere to put my soap or shampoo other than that I would have given them a complete excellent rating!

Right for the price.

If you are looking for an inexpensive option this is good. Its also within walking distance of downtown Ocala. Its probably about right for the price. I think in future I would pay a little more.

The bathroom was not cleaned very well. Water stains on the mirrors and the shower did not appear particularly clean either. Very basic, DIY / “I know a guy” construction in the room. Positives were the absurdly potent AC and the bed appeared clean and was comfortable.

The Shamrock Inn is a cute little motel. Maybe 12 rooms. You can see that they are working on it but it feels unfinished. No chair or little table, no where to place your suitcase. No spot in bathroom to put shampoo or toiletries other than shower floor. We had trouble figuring out the TV and the worst thing was no real hot water. We let the water run for 15 minutes just to get warm enough to step in. No water pressure so it felt colt. We had to go ask for towels- they forgot to put them in the room and they were not nice towels. Also the lobby opens at 10 for coffee so you can't get coffee when you get up. I felt like they are trying but aren't quite there.
