The hotel itself is fantastic. Room is spacious and clean, staff is nice and helpful, breakfast is amazing. Location is also very good, just a short walk to center of town. Overall we loved the hotel. The only downside, and frankly this is not something the hotel can do, is that there can be loud thumping music (we were in town during low season) or barking dogs at night around the area where the hotel is. If you’re not as sensitive to noise or a sound sleeper then this probably won’t be an issue.

We spent a week here and loved the experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We also took some of the cooking classes which were excellent. It's an easy walk to the main plazas and there are a number of excellent restaurants and coffee shops nearby. It's a little oasis of quiet and comfort in a vibrant and fascinating city. The self-service honor bar is also a really nice amenity and the breakfasts were wonderful.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel de Corazon in Oaxaca for a week, and 5 out of the 7 days there was no hot water. That was unacceptable, every day I told the front desk about the hot water issue and I was given excuses and reasons instead of solutions. Taking cold showers the majority of our stay was very uncomfortable. Management did not offer any real apology, compensation, or urgency to fix the problem. I was also told the reason they did not move us to another room was because they were full. I contacted Expedia and was told the hotel refused to offer any compensation. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will not be returning to this hotel again!

Wow! What a fantastic boutique hotel! We stayed a week and couldn't have had a better experience. The staff is wonderful, super helpful, patient with those of us still working on our Spanish, and the complimentary breakfast is top notch! We loved this hotel. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, the triple room was spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen staff was able to accommodate my food allergies at the free breakfast. Walkable to the center. Plus, 75% of their profits go to funding education. Would absolutely stay here again!
