This was our second time staying at the Waikiki Hotel Resort. We love the open-air lobby and the location is absolutely fantastic. The Hotel is merely a block from the beach and is great if you want to have 1/4 or 1/2 days at the beach. There is also a car rental shop conveniently located in the lobby so it was very easy for us to rent a car for a day to circle around the island. The breakfast buffet has vastly improved from when we stayed here in late 2024. The selection now includes fresh fruit, garden salad, soup, scrambled eggs, rotating selection of carbs (rice, fried rice, hash browns, potatoes), rotating selection of breakfast protein (different sausages, ham), pastries, bread, soup, oatmeal and beverages. We've had Park at the breakfast buffet serve us for two years in a row, and he is always a delight! The rooms are quite spacious but, as others have mentioned, are dated and could use an update. We do like the old-school Hawaiian vibe, however. as it's somewhat nostalgic for us. Overall, I think it's a good place to stay particularly if you value being able to have quick and easy breakfast on site. Some of their hotel staff could display more "aloha" in their presentation, but there was nothing wrong or bad with the service that we received. The Hotel also added a game room with arcade games, a pool table, foosball, etc. which was popular with the kids. On-site laundry was also good and easy to access.

The hotel itself is nice, clean and all the staff is so friendly. They do have parking in the hotel garage. The outside hourly parking is a bit small but if you have a visitor it’s helpful; $10 /hr. I stayed in a den suite next to the elevator which was nice and spacious. You can hear the elevators fro the bathroom, but not the rooms. One thing I will also note is the bathroom sink is very tiny, though the bathroom itself is normal sized and it’s nice they stock the shampoo/cond/soap/lotion. You don’t have a ton of room to do your makeup in the bathroom. The balcony was nice and beds comfy. My room had a kitchenette which was helpful. Anything you needed help with they try to accommodate and the breakfast buffet was really good with plenty of options. I had my younger kids with me and the staff was really nice to them; so playful and fun. The hotel is one tiny block (20 seconds of walking) to the beach and it’s sooooo nice. So for the overall price, nice staff, yummy food and how close it is to the beach… it’s definitely a lovely stay.

They knew it was it was my wifes birthday, and was my 5 month old sons first trip. Instantly the room smelled of mold and moister. All they offered at first was for someone to check it out. 4 days later we noticed black mold right near the shower (i have photos) the same shower my baby was being bathed in. Only then they offered to switch our rooms. Very disturbing i feel some form of compensation should be offered. One of the front desk workers also has 0 energy when approaching. Alot of attitude. The breakfast buffet was good and the staff working the buffet were phenomenal 🙏🙏

I was surprised at tge amount of mold in the room. Room Service was poor. They did the bare minimum in cleaning. Barely vacuumed the toom, never changed sheets the whole week.

I enjoyed my stay at the Waikiki Resort Hotel. Everything was pretty clean and organized, with the exception of one of my towels that looked like it had a stain. But I had extra towels so it wasn't a problem for me. I had the partial ocean view which was really nice. While at times it may feel like it's one of the hotels that is on the far end of the main strip, I had no problem walking everywhere or taking a short bus ride to the more far away spots. A big Mahalo to the staff for making me feel so welcome. Overall, I thought the Waikiki Resort Hotel was great and would recommend it to others!

The hotel is very conveniently located and I didn’t have issues parking on site. The staff were very friendly and they were even able to accommodate a late night check out time (8pm) for a reasonable fee. Would definitely stay here again.
