Bell Cottage, a period cottage between the North Yorkshire Moors & Dales

Bell Cottage was a weaver’s cottage where workers from the Brompton flax mills lived. This terraced house is 18th century with a 19th-century addition, and restored to a high standard. Brompton is a historic village, close to North Yorkshire's main town, Northallerton. It was an important centre for linen making with eight mills at its peak in 1820. Our cottage is a part of that history. Brompton offers excellent access to both the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales.
Make yourself comfortable in this cottage, which has a kitchen. A Smart television is provided for your entertainment. Conveniences include a washing machine and an iron/ironing board.

The walls of 18th-century worker's houses are relatively thin and sound can carry. Please be respectful of our neighbours and keep the noise down.
Bell Cottage is over 150 years old, and old houses need to breathe. Please keep at least one window upstairs open (just a bit) for air circulation.
