For a taste of the past this grand hotel has all the features. Sitting room with big comfy couches, opposite the pier and a few mins walk from the castle. The room was good (we had least expensive)the bath enormous ( shower above) maybe one too many chairs but slept well and breakfast excellent. The restaurant was also very good in the evening and the Bull’s head the other night can be recommended.

Lovely staff and location excellent. Hotel a little tired but everything was in the rooms e.g. Kettle, hair dryer etc. Only gave 3 stars as the bed was uncomfortable. It was a memory form mattress around 4 inches so when you sat on the bed you sat straight on the diven hard board.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, both at breakfast and dinner. Room was very clean and comfortable. It was very windy whilst we were there and due to the age of the property the bathroom window, which didn’t fit very well let a lot of cold air in. Bed and pillows very comfortable.

Second stay at this Beautiful old building with immense character. Love the place. Cheaper rooms are quite basic. But this time treated the with to the Regent suite - stunning room with 4 poster bed. Breakfast was amazing. Special mention to the young female serving at breakfast. So polite and helpful. And the night time young charming American barman. Only downside was the lift was broken. Alot of stairs to climb.
