Great location…25 steps to Bangor train station. Friendly warm staff. Authentic Thai food available in their restaurant.Downstairs bar had small groups of friendly easygoing young crowd (not loud or unpleasant) Owner Ms. Su is actively committed to her business and is available to guests for compliments or complaints. Local busses leave within one to 4 blocks for various locations including Snowdonia.

Conveniently positioned to enable an easy stroll to the city centre and theatre at Pontio. Luxury of off road parking. Surprisingly quiet. Menu looked very extensive and wish we’d eaten there in the evening. Breakfast portion size was enormous and tasty!

Unfortunately, the cleanliness and quality of the rooms/bathrooms were disappointing. I understand that a bunkhouse is a low-cost option and not to expect luxury, but I did not feel very comfortable here. On the plus side, the restaurant served wonderful food (my dinner was delicious) and the staff were very helpful and welcoming.

The proprietor, Sue, is an artist and it shows. Everywhere you see a special touch of interesting art and decorations. She is also Thai so there is a Thai buffet on Thursdays. The food is delicious. The rooms are renovated and comfortable and everyone working there is exceedingly helpful. Try this place since you can't beat the price or location, right across from the train and bus stops.

Good place to stay within 20-30 minutes of the mountains. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Especially when we arrived late. There was no hassle at check in. Room was clean and beds very comfy which was needed after a long day on the hills! Coffee amenities in the room were also great. There is also a bar downstairs which we never used so I can't comment on that however it always had people in it. Our room did need a little bit of TLC and maintenance but we weren't too fussed as the room was only used for sleeping in. Overall, we would stay here again.
