The only reason I’m leaving two stars is because of a very disturbing encounter with another guest during what was supposed to be a relaxing getaway for my fiancée and me to visit her family. I had taken our dog outside and was coming back up the back stairway when a man coming down saw us and immediately started yelling profanity. He claimed he was “allergic to dogs,” but instead of calmly expressing that or simply avoiding us, he escalated the situation by screaming, threatening to kill our dog, and becoming extremely hostile verbally.
To make matters worse, he also began talking badly about the staff and housekeeping, who had nothing to do with the situation at all. His behavior was completely inappropriate and honestly frightening.
I want to emphasize that the staff were amazing. They stepped in right away, helped de-escalate everything, and showed real professionalism and compassion. They did everything they could, but being confronted and threatened like that really impacted what should have been a positive stay for us.
I appreciate the staff tremendously, but no guest should have to deal with someone acting that aggressively in a hotel environment. He shouldn't have been there in the first place.
