"I was blown away by how much I enjoyed my stay. I chose Historic Beaver Mill Inn because it was the least expensive room in the area. I was there three days while my son hiked a section of the nearby Appalachian Trail. The 12 rooms in the Inn are newly built in a small part of the overall historic mill building. The rest of the building is made up of artist studios. The largest studio is the 50,000 square foot studio of the owner, Eric Rudd. Eric gave me an hour-long tour of his studio that felt like ten minutes. The Inn has a large communal kitchen with three full-size refrigerator/freezers, a full-size stove, sink, one locker for each guest for dry food, and there is a large open area with couches and coffee tables. The North Branch of the Hoosic River flows through the property. For the benefit of fly-fishers, I saw fresh Stonefly shell-casings on the rocks in the stream. The North branch flows into the main Hoosic River close by, and is a highly-rated fly-fishing stream. The entrance to the beautiful Natural Bridge State Park is adjacent to the Inn, and I walked from the Inn through the park. The ranger told me that the fly fishing is excellent in the streams through the park. The Mill building dates from the mid 1800's, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. The interior construction of the rooms of the Inn is brand new. Painters were making finishing touches while I was there. The rooms are decorated with original paintings by Eric Rudd."

"Nice, well-maintained property, everything was very clean. The breakfast nook was not overly crazy crowded, which is really good traveling with young children. The staff even apologized for not having the waffle maker as a new one was being delivered. The hot tub was also a plus!"

"The property is on a busy road. I was glad I asked for a room on the backside of the property. It was disappointing to find there was no coffeemaker in the room. Breakfast was good. There was quite a variety of items. They had coffee, but no decaf coffee. A staff member suggested diluting the regular coffee with water. When you can’t have caffeine that’s not an option. I was glad we stayed there but probably wouldn’t go back."
